Does anyone go to the street races anymore? I went 3 or 4 times when I was in highschool, but it got old quick....Id much rather go to the track.

Just curious if any of you guys ever go...

 

only the track had a bad experience one time, lakeland drag strip the only place to go.

 

Street racing always gets you in trouble no matter what

I go every weekend!!!

 

I still go out to the Tim Horton's and hang out for a bit. But, myself and quite a few others stay parked while the others go out to "race".

 

I never have street raced and never will. Too many things can go wrong. Keeping it at the track is the best option.

 

A few of us in S'toon will do the odd pull on the paved back roads.

 

Me and my bro go to the local spot every couple of weekends,
just last saturday raced a 03-04 mustang gt and beat it by 1 1/2 cars or in this case trucks. lol
I though those things were fast? Maybe just driver error. Should have seen his face, it was priceless, trying to show out in front of his gf and friends lol.

Anyway, I love street racing, bash me all you want but I just love the feeling.

 

its the same feeling at the track.

just minus the immature, selfish, dangerous stupidity.

 

I guess, never been to a track tho, dont even have a car yet, im just along for the ride lol.

 

ya i go to the tim's and just park my car and watch as all the other guys that do go street racing and are pulling all the stupid stunts and laugh at them when they get tickets. its a good time to just go and hang out with people with similiar cars and are gear heads

 

were u guys at tims last week?? 3 ******* fights! and the cops nabed a guy doin 230 in a skyline tryin to ditch some russians he tried to run over! CRAZY!

 

The stock mustangs are fast, but not that fast. If you find yourself a mustang with some work and it will be a different story. One night some kid in a 2003 mustang was revving at me at a stop light so I revved back. Light turned green he got a bout a 1/2 car jump on me, but by the time I shifted into third I had about a car on him and I was still pulling away, so I let off the gas.

 

Yeah but your in a ss/sc my bro drives a S10 Xtreme with CAI and FlowMasters exhaust.
Im guessing it was driver error, who knows, but it was really funny to watch a s10 beat a l33t mustang, lol. 1 mustang fanboi down, 99,99999,999999 to go, lol.

that was in calgary i wasn't there but i heard all about it from my buddies. there was like 30 cops that showed up.

 

Yea I was there about 10 for a bit just to see if any cobalt drivers where there. Talked to a guy who has a mustang and an SRT for a bit then left. I will probably go down this Saturday night for an hour or so. I don’t really know anyone there or can relate to them so it gets boring fast. I was just hoping to see someone with the cobalt there.

i still go,but its more of a parking lot chillin where 13 sec and under car comes to chill and some race for a minimum of 1000 per race...last week 3,000 race between evo 9 and srt4..they counted the money right infront of me..hahahaha..cops come and make sure we aint doin burnouts(which we arent)or acting stupid,and leave us alone

 

i like the track, you can actually see what you are doing its cheep and well worth it

oppose to unsafe, and expensive.

 

couldn't agree more. that and you get to find out what your actual 1/4 mile times are.

 

HAHAHAHAHAHA ya it was crazy **** man i didn't get there till later but there were like cops and ****.. and the helicopter circlin around above.. lol good times. I was in my supra, not my cobalt.

yeah the thing i hate the most is when ppl say **** like "oh yeah ill def run a 12"

then your like "wait you never ran it?" and they say "no bla bla "

then they run it and they get a 14 something and you start to hear the bs why.



the way i see it the 1/4 mile is all math. you do it, you repeat it, you will get better at it..the numbers will show.
