I get on it on weekdays sometimes not redlining it but a little go, but on weekends and if iam racing ill hammer it.

 

I think once a week is every once in a while, so once a week I'll red line 1st and 2nd, then it's back to shifting around 2800.

 

Mainly when I get on the freeway on the on-ramp I will give her hell, or when i race. But thats usually it.

 

I get on it. Usually on my way to work on a nice long stretch where cops cant sit......

I drive like a granny! My Cobalt sees plenty of speed when my husband is behind the wheel though. He has already gotten one speeding ticket & I have heard him bragging about the car going 140 mph. He drives like a tool too. I try not to let him drive at all. I am getting stage 2 installed in a couple of days. That may change my granny ways......

 

On highways only. In town I drive pretty slow. Even than I don't beat on the car let alota ppl i know.

 

I drive the car the way it was made to drive, pure power!

I bought my car with 150 miles on it. At 164 miles I took it to 6 grand in every gear, except 5th of course, only 4500

 

I'm a little too easy on it, I think. But I figure that given the crap money I can expect from my occupation, I might as well try and make my car last as long as possible!

 

I didn't buy it to not get on it!

I couldn't have said it better myself! I have to get good gas miliage since I work 17km's away from home, but as soon as I get onto a nice highway, wow do I push! It's so fun to drive, that when I have the chance to look at my speed, I'm like oh ****, too fast! lol You don't notice it!! lolol

I beat the ever living **** out of these cars. I look at it this way: If I'm paying over $800 a month for cars, I'm going to get my use out of them

 

no its not. you are supposed to break it in like you are going to drive it.

 

90% I'm stuck in good ol NY city traffic so my car only gets its floggings on friday night when I head out to dpa... other than that I drive like grandpa... and still average 25 mpg with the mods I got...

 

I don't know what your definition of beating on it is. I mean I drive fast but last time I checked this was a sport car and not a mini-van. I don't burn out , dump the clutch, or slip the clutch.

 

In other news I am going to try getting them to buy mine back and see what type of deal I can get on a GTO . Gas Thirsty Orifice

 

correct but thats after a few hundred/thousand miles..... for the first few hundred up to a thousand or so drive it easy as the block is brand new. After that.... assimilate the ecu and the car to the driving patterns that you would usually take it ..... like you said. Bottom line, he should have waited longer

 

I don't do anything that would be considered abusive to the car, but it's leased so I regularly shift around 4000 RPM even when I'm not really getting on it. I get on it hard just about everytime I get a clearing in the traffic. If I wanted to drive like a granny I would have bought the car instead of leasing!

 

Every once in a while, when I need to show a Civic what's up. lol. Or sometimes I gotta get my girlfriend to work... FAST! Or when I see another SS or SS s/c I gotta run with him for a little.
