Not much suspension mods, and an airbox mod. I know that there are two more SS/SC's in Minot. One red one and a black one here on base. I have a black non G85'ed SS/SC, evenutally this winter I will run GM Stage 2 with a 2.9-3.0 pulley. Plans for yours?

I plan on doin' the GM stage II also, but i may just go aftermarket for higher yields right away! I plan on sumwhere round 350-400hp n i'll quit with the engine but first i need to get the motor mounts n suspension, the LSD makes her jump if you really get on it low end....right now i'm tryin' to get my system goin that i had in my '01 Cavalier Z24. Exhaust n intake n all that shit will be nice also:) But te meet starts here in 10 minutes dude, gotta go check these guy out!!

Good luck with 350 probably won't get there unless you go Twincharge or a full turbo. There is a 296 whp Ion Redline but thats with a 2.5" and all supporting mods. 300 hp is about the maximum I think you can go with the supercharger without it self destructing.

How was the meet??? Maybe we could all get together and have an LSJ meet. I am curious if all the AutoX events are over. I Would like to go to one more b4 winter hits.

Ya all the meets are done for the year according to the SCCA guy! THis last weekend here that white MR2 with 4 drags slicks around whooped ass on his last run, his first 4 runs his throttle cable fucked up and he had to shut her down! The Lotus Exige was second and can't remember what got the rest!

I gotz a book on how to the build the 2.0 EcoTec Supercharged! It tells ya for cams, boost, injectors, pistons, crank, rings, intake manifold setups, everything...according to GM you can get around 500hp with the internals before diggin to deep in the motor and pocketbook!

Igotz 2 get the suspension...upfront especialy tightened up! but firstme gon try to get the DVD system goin....damn wire harness and all the install crap is spendy for these fuckers!...rite now i got sum engineering goin' on from the 6x9's into RCA adapter with a kill switch on the amps, but that just aint doin' for me need my 4000watts of Fury ya know!! :) After i get that goin then i'll focus on gettin a CAI, Pulley, Injectors, etc.
Sumwhere in between that i'll get small suspension parts for the front of it anyways!

How does that ingalls dampener work?..i wasn't sure if i should get that or the Poly's upfront first...i know the poly's helped quite abit on my '01cavalier, but didn't quite get that far with that motor to put a dampener on it!

I just got the Stage II GM kit on my car 2day.....i put the injectors in myself and took the car to the gm shop (no SES lights at all), then had them put the pulley hub, n reprogram the computers!! they only charged me $200 n i paid $645 for the kit!! i got the 2.8 aftermarket pulley for the GM Stage II and put that on, she boostin to 18psi!!!! i have a K&N Cold Air Intake comin' in the mail, and exhuast is goin' on 2maro!!! she already screams, can't wait to see what it does after all that!! gonna need sum suspension work now, engine bay most specifically!

awsome. I am just running a 3.0 in. StilGar says there is a Red Cobalt SS and a Red Redline in Grandforks.

The torque dampener works great, and you can adjust it. Took me 10 minutes to install, about your stage 2. Your injectors are going static every time you go past like 6200 RPM. That means they are going to stick open, dumping raw fuel in. Your engine is going to blow up, I can guarentee you that. You probably went with pulley boys GM stage 2 look a like right? Well good luck I did weeks and weeks of research I have decided that the GM injectors are no good for the 2.8. They are a shit ton of threads proving this with AF Ration graphs, you can see them max out. If I were you I would change that shit out and go with the stock 3". Go with some 60 lbs/Hptuners if you decide to keep the 2.8". Its going to blow up the question is when. Sounds like your Chevy dealership doesn't blow dick like Minot's they fucking hate me here. They know me by name because I have so many problems. Whats the Bismarck dealership you go to? Ryan Chevrolet wants like almost 1k for an installed GM stage 2, I laughed and walked out.

:guns: i generally don't take it over 6k and if i do i only go to 6500 or so! i don't hit the rev limiter......mostly the car is driven in town, not taken over 60...which is 2nd!!! but the mid-range improvement is great! i eventually am goning to go past "Stage III" with 60lbers or more n NOS, more coolers n such with all the good fun stuff...............just as soon as the warrenty go off, but for now this is probably all i'm gonna do for another year or two (engine)!!!:guns:

Grand Forks here. I see a red SS/SC around and parks at Rydells a lot, but still havent figured out who owns it. It's the only SS/SC I have seen in person.

Ya'lls gona havta check out the mods i gots done under the hood!!! K&N suckin all that air through the GM Stage II equipped LSJ, blowin it at 19psi straight through the LSJ, n makin the clutch slip like crazy....finally headin out the ZZP Header n 3" Downpipe, out through the stock exhaust (unfortunately)!! Thats bout all i really need.....for now!! I think me gona call her quits on the motor for now, n start workin on suspension!!! she's a screamer at 19psi on 95 Octane!!!! Just need that wheel hop -n- suspension situation, n clutch grabbin ability takin care of and she be a prime machine!!!

i got it almost a year ago, used but just barely. dont remember the miles it had on it. i actually got it from bessette's in carrington. i was lookin at one in minnesota and i asked them if they could find one for me and they did so they bought it at an auction and i bought it from them, so it was a pretty lucky find i guess haha.

Yeah track isnt necessary. Bismarck also gets my vote, due to highest population of LSJs, lots of places to cruise, and the central location.

It got a little better but it still stutters for about a second when i give it gas down low or go WOT. They told me that my intake was taking in too much air for the MAF to read correctly. So now im supposed to either try to restrict the airflow or go back to stck airbox with a k&n filter

I was thinkin bout goin to the 3" INTAKE with my 3.5" Throttle Body -n- Spacer....once i get it installed! The actual 3.5 TB bore is only like 2.78" on the butterfly (or sumthing close)...so my 2.5" K&N would be a lil restrictive but not bad, n switching to the 3" would be nice but then your your suppose to change over to an LT1 MAF or sumthin! a guy at rebelautoworx was tellin me on the phone here a couple months ago.....becuz the MAF for ares are designed for 2.3" Tubing and K&N is 2.5" and others go upto 3" n that y he thought they threw codes....sum do sum don't he said, but whatever i guess! I've seen a few threads here where ppl are talkin bout the different intakes n such...but don't remeber exact link!!

The pulley is from SMOOTHFLOW PULLEYS outa MN the have a pulley as low as 2.7 for the GM STAGE HUB!!!! i put it on with my GM Stage II Belt n it was slippin at idle....so i got the ZZP oversize 3" pulley...probably gon get the ZZP tensioner with my core refund from the 2-pass end plate!!! me waitin on the Wideband n Aeroforce SS gauge for my pillar but gon try to get this stuff on the engine within the next 2 weeks!!!

I took mine to Puklich and they ran a test code 420....exhaust....so they looked at the O2 sensors n all that such...they called me n told me what it was and i told them don't worry bout it i don't want it fixed....that the only time they asked me bout it....i had sum other work done on my charger and they didn't even ask bout the intake, overdrive pulley, injectors, or oversized throttle body with "Edlebrock" sticker on it (even though it just a GM 5.3V8...hehe :twothumbs ) they kinda know it's modded...the only way they'll screw ya is if an inspector gets called out...or they just wanna be dicks....i told them what i had done and they were pretty good bout gettin round it!!!
BUT NOT SUMTHING THATS FUN IF THEY DO.....i know Eide will not warrenty if they find aftermarket parts AT ALL!!!!

ya we kinda threw down....it was more like him takin off....me spinnin tires catchin up....then radar flies balzy off the walzy....n pretty much slammed on da brakes....bout a 5-45 pull i would say....my 2nd was pretty much topped out, but spinnin' the whole time from 15-40!!! either way he got me off the line no prob....i may have, but doubtfully, caught up!!

My fricken Dualpass "option B" wouldn't bleed thru the system like they say (it is now properly working tho)....so on sunday here i took the hoses apart and run a funnel on one end dumpin in coolant n 5 gallon bucket off the otherside catchin it....once everything is full now it fine though!! :cussing: so i was runnin insane IAT2 temps!!! n not boostin properly cuz my tensioner is so sloppy now (it's horrible guys...moves like 1/4 side to side from the stud bolt on the engine)....ZZP gave me the wrong pulley (non-ribbed 3.5; so i'm waitin for that in the mail) and waiting for the core deposit back form them to get a new adjustable tensioner from ZZP...so my car isn't functioning properly!!! but hopefully all goes well here this week!!! Still gotta put my aeroforce in and waitin' for da wideband in da mail as well.....got the ZZP GaugePod and DAMN SO IT SEXY.....looks like stock....only BETTER!!!

Got my gauges in....only got the AeroForce funtioning rite now...AutoMeter AFR Gauge still need to get my O2 Bung in my Downpipe b4 the Cat....or mite just possibly buy a new downpipe with no-Cat soon!!!! me still waitin on my correct pulley from ZZP and the adjustable tensioner as well!!!! Only way my 2.7 gonna fit...so my car is not quite dun!!!! but hopefully by the end of the week I have her runnin top notch!!!

Infra....u really outta do the dualpass b4 you go bout doin the other cooling mod thingy....i had my option B tank installed without the dualpass plate and it didn't change much for Air Temps...did the dualpass and it way cooler....the option B added bout 3/4 gal also....and instead of using a .040 oriface in the bleed line for "air only"...i put a .125 oriface inline of the 1/4" (.25) tubing...so that a lil more coolant flows into the overflow tank and pushes the cooled standing water thru the system!!! it's like 3x more coolant flow over the GM setup which doesn't flow shit thru the overflow (just uses it as airbleeder;oriface is so small it's "just a dribble of my dick" flow of coolant that comes out)....with the .125 (1/8-to-1/4 barb fitting inside the tube) it circulates ALL the coolant more efficiently!!

The laminova tubes flow a shit ton over there outer edge compared to the internal tubing (which has bout a 1/8 hole on one end to divert flow around to the outer edge) so the cooling wouldn't be affected by the .125 oriface at all reality....theorectically anyways!!! once you take the tubes out of your intake and flip them you will totally understand if you haven't seen them already!!! (if you do the dualpass)

Looking good jesse! I got the steering column pod, ill post a pic here if i can find one. As for cooling mods, I think ill eventually do the option b dualpass but for now Ill throw on the cobra h/e and do the stu mod. That mod will come in handy at the track this summer!

lookin decent, thought you already had a boost gauge in the ions??....i wanna get the dual pod in the cobalt cluster that sit in each corner, also... mainly cuz they don't get in the way of the rest of the gauges, like the center mount pod over the steering wheel style!!! but i duno what i would put in them anyways since the interceptor pretty much show it all already!!! but that be WAY later...after the turbo dualcharge is in :) (that next winter)

...yesterday i was cruizin for sumtime...@ 60F i was gettin 84F IAT2 just drivin and max boost over a 5 minute time of just thrashin on it hard out in the country the highest IAT2 i seen was 138F and it took bout 2 minutes for it to get back down to 90F where it sat til i got home basically!!! but i wasn't BOOSTIN at full potential cuz of the damn belt slip issues n bullshit.....still waitin on my damn tensioner/pulley from ZZP!! you can really tell when you get above about 14-15 psi, temps just start jumpin huge.....but then my belt started slippin HUGE too!!!

The comp package redlines came with boost gauge and ladder tach along with LSD and gunmetal rims. The non comp ones didnt have boost gauge so I picked up an autometer. I would switch it out anyways cause yours is electronic and reads off the MAP sensor. Mine is mechanical and reads off a vacuum line

I think my car is gettin spark blowout...put the tensioner on and seems to do it sooner now cuz the belt not slippin n it actually gettin boost!!! i got like 34 misfires last nite when i tried to take it to 6k....my boost was over 16psi n not soundin' nice like it should!!!! So i gon order new Iridium IX's n hopefully it will change, unless i just really have a shitty fuckin tune in now...dunno but it pissin' me off!!!!!:cussing:

I'VE ONLY HAD 1 DEGREE OF KNOCK RETARD AND THAT HAS ONLY HAPPENED ONCE.....IT'S LIKE AS SOON AS IT HITS RITE ROUND THE 16 PSI MARK IT STARTS FUCKIN UP....according to other posts i've read, the 1 step colder plugs will blowout after bout 15-16psi (what i had bought for my previous GM StageII w 2.8 setup) So that is why i getting misfires, according to posts anyways, from what i can figure out!! and that kinda my fault, i had forgot i only got 1 step til i had went thru my invoices N READ!!!

The tune i have is the ZZP tune for 60's n down to 2.6....so unless they gave me a shitty tune, i dunno!! At this point i gettin 2step colder plugs to see if that it....after that i'm outa ideas til i can get proper tuning!!! unless my fuel is crap....but can't tell til i get my bung welded in or buy new catless DP (which i think i just mite do)

I'm bout gettin sick of dealin with them at this point...been havin troubles comminucatin with them on a timely matter....ordered my stuff back on march 13....it's april 24 now n still goin back n forth across stupid fukin email bullshit, ther fone numbers or faxes are busy 24/7...great business i guess!!! for the $3000+ i've spent with them across the couple years i would think they would be a lil better at this point....but this is enuf bitchin, just had to release that to sum1, anyone who's readin :)

I have chris's header and dp lol. And his was G85, be he couldnt launch, I took him off the line in my one wheel wonder! Only thing that stayed on the car was the cat back but with the stock muffler. Everything else was sold. His car could have been fast but it was on the stock tune with no cooling mods with 60's and a 2.4 pulley. Its honestly a miracle it didnt blow up lol

he told me it was LSD too....but there is no way it could be, cuz when we took off his passenger wheel was spinnnin off the hook and his driver wheel (the one i could see) was just goin with the flow.....at least that what it looked like to me, unless he was just slippin the clutch HORRIBLY!!!
He didn't have Recaro SS seating....G85 pkg comes with Recaro and LSD....i had to pay for the option/location finder/special order out on mine when i bought it brand new!!! It was way better then the one wheel wonder!!! So he must have put it in after market or dealer installed....he had the "special" color matched inserts on his seats, which included heated seats....option you don't get with the G85 Recaros/LSD option...i should look at my MSRP Invoice n see what it cost me for my order out again!!

Oh I thought I remebered recaros in his. I guess not. At least I have em! Haha

So the 60's and 2.8 should go in this weekend whenever I get my tune

I bet its the roll pin in the shift linkage. Happens a lot to these cars. Most guys just replace it with a bolt so it doesnt break again. Should be an easy fix! Hopefully thats all it is! Mention that to them so they know what to look for

So dudes...check this out....i went out to the Cities here 2 weeks ago and i got 39mpg on the way out there and 35 on the way back wit 91 + NOS Octane Booster!!! I thought maybe it was lyin to me or just a fluke...but i went back home to McClusky here this weekend and i got 36mpg there and back average!!! My stock mileage was around 29-30mpg on the road and GM Stage II was 27-28mpg!!!!

THANKZ ZZP....now if i had my WideBand bung installed so i could actually use it to really mod the A/F i bet i get even more!!!

Hey whats up? From Minot here I drive the red Cobalt SS/SC around town. Owned it since Feb and its completely stock. Lookin into doin a intake, exhaust and stage 3 from zzp here soon.

Welcome man! I've heard good things about the zzp kit, and I run some of their parts on my car with no complaints.

Is there any meets that anyone has around ND??? I've seen a few ss/tc and ss/sc with a few redlines.

Idk about meets but if you ever come to bismarck im sure we could get a little cruise going. Wont be all lsj's but there are usually 3 or 4 of us along with some of my friends that have sti's, wrx's, camaros etc.

I might be up for that. I'll have to let you know. If I do i might take my VR4. Don't know yet...

99? Ill take care of it! Thats my dream car pretty much, the 99 vr4. I had a 91 stealth rt na for 3 years as my first car. Now its my bros so its still in the family. My friend has a black 95 vr4 with turbo back exhaust, hks intake, and ebc @14.5psi. Fun car for sure, but he is selling it:( wish I had some extra cash right now.

No I bought it for 3k and it had bad synchros in the tranny, bad power steering rack, Clutch was really hard to push down, and the engine ran like shit. The guy I bought it from only put 5k in 5 years on it. So I took the engine out and had the heads rebuilt and i'm about to have all the synchros, brand new clutch and slave cylinder, steering rack, and a whole bunch of new parts installed :)

Nice! You get the synchros from Kormex or did you get some other ones? That things gonna be a beast when its done eh?

Hopefully. i put the synchros on lay-a-way from 3sx performance with brand new tranny bearings. It came out to around 2k for all that stuff.

Well when its running you will have to bring it here to bis! And if you come here anytime before my friend sells his you can check that out too!

Nope my SS is completely stock for the moment. I really want to get the stage 3 from zzp with a 2.9 pulley and an intake with a full exhaust. Thats all i want to do with the cobalt.

I would just stick with the 2.8 that comes with the kit since it comes with a heat exchanger

I'll look into that. Right now I think the supercharger coupler thing is going out cause something is makin noises off and on under the hood and I heard those things go out. But the car is under warranty :)

Mine chatters a bit. I believe it is just how the rotors sound since all my friends lsj's do the same

well if it goes out I'll just have it replaced. I take it that this is a common problem for the cobalt?

Yeah it seems to be after a while. Our blowers do make a little noise though, but yeah if it goes out I think it will be pretty noticeable

yes i have travis in my english class. hes a really cool guy. i took my black rims off because my buddy from dickinson put his stock rims back on his lancer so i just put my stock rims back on also. but only for the winter of course.

your redline is really nice man. if you see me in the lot ever just wave me in, i would like to see it if you dont mind.

im getting sick of my balt, i wish it was an SS ha. hopefully once i grad next year ill get a golf gti ( MKV or MKVI) or something.
