On a side note, I think the thermometer across the road said 40 today. Is that correct? Either way in Farenheit it was 106.

Edmonton is about 1000' lower than Calgary. I'm hoping that this drop in elevation will also drop my ET's.
So... ya! We're going to the track!

That is because we are not dependent upon other Countries for our very being.

Not really how I feel about you Canadians, but damn man I talk to you guys everyday on business and it is amazing how alot of your people look down their noses at Americans. Isn't Canada supposed to be a melting pot- cultural, political, etc? It is almost like Canadians hate Americans. Is it an inferiority complex? Really, what is it?

Not its not an infeority complex. Canada has some truly great inventions and acomplishments. (Super Man, basketball, pace maker, machine gun tracer bullet, light bulb, insulin, electron microscope and we had the 2nd Jet powered passneger plane in the world---8 years before your Boeing 707! And our F-86 Sabres were faster, due to the Canadian made Orenda engine)

Your generalizing far too much. I know a just a few people that really hate Americans--call them war mongers and such. But they are dumbasses

But they are generalizing too. People are people and--a governements actions should not reflect on how the people of the country are viewed. I think many people make that mistake.

I do find Americans usually do not know much about Canada. How much power we supply you with--hydro and we are your biggest oil supplier.

I consider my self American, well sort of.---I am from American decent-ALL my realtives are from the USA--some immigrated on the Mayflower--or one of those boats.

I find it very interesting that Prior to WW2 and WW1 the US had a very strong isolationist policy. They were late in entering both wars but have been over compensating a bit too much ever since. Of course being a super-power may have something to do with it.

But George Bush as president? Thats pretty sad.

Some good points, but I would have to disagree about your supplying power to us and your being our biggest oil supplier. I actually work with one of your Hydro utilities. We might get a little energy from Canada but it is a drop in the bucket. I really do not have anything against Canadians. I do grow tired of being "lectured" by them every day at work and I cannot speak my mind or defend myself or my Country. I think Canada should be our closest ally, but from the rhetoric I hear it seems that Canadians really do not like or respect us.

Very common misconception that the Middle east is your biggest oil supplier.

Alberta Oil Sands have all the oil you need! Of course it a bitch to get out--maybe $15 per barrle but at 75$ oil who cares?

http://www.energy.gov.ab.ca/docs/oil...s/NAOR2003.pdf

Scroll down the 2nd page for a neat grapic comparing Alberta to the US for oil

176 billion barrels...and that the the proven reserves. There is more but its a question of how we can get at it.

I treid to find hydro power export stats to the US but could not. However, only aboubt 10% of US power is hydro anyhow.
