The two will make a bad ass combo! Also, there will be one specifically for the Cobalt to maximize the amount of open space in the engine bay!

It allows you to hold a bunch more coolant for your intercooler system. Having more means the coolant will stay cooler, and won't heat up as hot. If you combine this with a second heat exchanger AND water injection, we'll get rid of alot of heat!

It looks like from the picture that we'll have to move our washer fluid spout, and I'll definitely have to move my water/meth injection reservoir.

that thing seems pretty big, wouldn't you get alot of heatsoak off of that thing? seems like it will do more heatsoaking than helping. just looks too big to circulate the coolant fast enough.

pretty sure those brackets are bent, how hard would it be to make your own plastic container anyways, seriously

some of the reline guys are running an oem resevoir tank as an extra one and it's like $20 or something.

i wouldn't put a resivoir of that size, plastic or metal right beside the engine because it's going to be soaking up heat like a ****, and there's so much liquid in there, it will be hard for it to circulate it effeciently. 6 liters is ALOT of added coolant. maybe if it was an ice box around the coolant or something... but not just a resevoir that thing at an absolute minimum needs to be wrapped with some good stuff.

Agreed! Personally, I think the snowperformance meth/water injection with a good front H/E is about the best method you can do to cool the air down. With those 2 you dont need anymore cooling.

Beat me to it! That is WAY WAY to high. You'll get air in it and this system is a major bitch to bleed! Change the position and it would be nice!

what about keeping the resevoir in the trunk like the STi's do??????

i would never put that resevoir under the hood(heat)

I agree W/I and a better H.E will do the job

Actually, thru some extensive 'real' world testing, water injection is all you need. My big FMHE has helped none over the stock set-up w/ WI!

This is the Redline proto-type. Cobalt is very close to finish. We have realized the return nipple, which can't be seen in the pics., has to be relocated. Inlet nipple may have to as well. Finished product, that will be distributed, will have incorporated all corrections.
Increasing capacity to 1.6 liters of additional intercooler fluid will keep fluids much cooler for a prolonged period of time...Having more fluid will not make more heat soak. The opposite is true. It will take longer to reach heat soak point with more fluid. Aluminum holding tank will dispensate heat quicker, aiding in cool down, not plastic. The 4" fuel cell door will allow for the addition of ice. Drain at bottom.
Circulation is not an issue. Flow rate does not change, the volume of cooling fluid does. End result is power kept from cooler operating temps.
LFP does not have data for the 2.0 yet, but on the 4.6 4V SC Cobra the addition of our tank and heat exchanger allowed for 2 more degree's of timing when tuning, back to back to back dyno pulls without heat soak.
At World Ford Challenge in St. Louis 2 years ago, 2 live test improved 1/4 mile time by 4mph.
They work!
ps: LFP kept IC reservoir under the hood to keep it affordable. Possibly a stage2 kit for the hardcore fans which will include a trunk kit may be in the future.

You said it bro 'real' world testing like in your car, not surprised. After reading up on W/I It just makes so much sense. Am sure the H/E helps, but nothing close to the W/I.
I think am going to get a W/I kit to start and see how that works out for me.
