Drove an ss/sc a couple days ago...

as the title says....i just didnt get a chance to post up on it.....well i really enjoyed it....i only got to see the bottom of 3rd but 1 st and 2nd had alot of pull to them.....the clutch was reeeeeeeeeeeeallll touchy.....but neverthe less i really liked it....i cant wait to see what my car will be like with FI....the trans was what i enjoyed the most...super smooth shifting and quick takeoff....i looked at the engine and that blower is damn small...the pics make it look bigger....i wanted to buy it and i called the insurance company and it would cost me 3k a year in insurance---(not bad in my book)---but the part that really burned me was that they wouldnt insure it because it was a high perf. car and im only 16 (17 next month)....so needless to say i will be going FI on my car and hopefully my trans goes out so i can get the F23 trans....

do it under your parents name and just pay your parents the insurance... that's what i do. and my insurance is pretty low, i don't think it was classified as a "high performance" car though.

My buddy went and tested a yellow 2.4 manual and the dealer let him and I go on our own. Halfway thru we switched and I drove it while he was teh passenger. I almost stalled it twice cause I'm used to my ss/sc clutch being bitchy at times. And a couple times I swore I put my foot thru the floorboard cause the 2.4 clutch is WAY lighter then the 2.0. Still a nicely quick car for what it is. Trying to get him into it cause then we'd have my 2.0, his 2.4, and Danklite's 2.2 all in town. But the clutches feel like complete opposites.

I have allstate and they classify the ss/sc the same as a base balt.

I pay the same rates as the 2.2 guys

Indeed, i pay my parents rates, and like some have said, the SS/SC is still in line with the base model rates. (it doesn't hurt to have side airbags)

I have Erie, and they clasify the car as mid.-level performance. I have the car insured in my name, and have totalled two cars. (one 5 years ago, one 3 years ago). Erie says my record is clear, and I only pay $120 a month for full coverage, with tort, and rental.
