How's your gas mileage? (or kilometerage? Spelling?)
Hey, I was just wondering what kind of gas mileage everyone was getting, according to your car.
I am getting 22.7 mpg right now, but it fluxuates a lot. I still have only about 1200 miles on it, so im wondering if it will get better after it breaks in a little more. I have a mix of highway/city, but mostly city. I have the 2.0 S/C.
I underlined the info I would like to know from everyone, thanks!!

okay, either there's something wrong with the way I drive or that the 2,4 is really hard on gas, I do an average 9,4L/100km (sorry, don't know how to convert it to mpg) I do a lot of mileage on the car, both highway and city... .oh and a couple drag racing runs every week
almost entirely in town driving is what I do (maybe 80% in town, and 20% highway per tank of gas), and I do tend to get on the boost now and then (will never ever get tired of the nice supercharger power
)
unfortunately I am not sure what my in dash display 'claims' at this time. I have found it always is about 2mpg higher than what I calculate after filling up at the pump so I don't really tend to even look at the computer's estimated mpg anymore (except for kicks to hit reset on it while coasting down some nice long hill just to see it read super high numbers)
mine is the 2.0 SC and I now have over 7500 miles on it (and from what I can see my mpg hasn't really changed from when I got the car compared to now)
You can check out my detailed fuel history at this page:

when I did take a bit of a highway trip you can see it would approach 29mpg.
the trip whre I got 28.8mpg that was purely 174miles of highway with no city driving, and I know the in dash display claimed 31mpg when I was pulling off at the destination and headed to gas station (I had reset it right after fueling up prior to beginning the 174mile drive).
And you can see in December there is a bad mileage reading as there were a few times I let the car sit and fully warm up the interior before I got in to drive away (obviously you get 0mpg if the car is burning gas and not moving hehe)
It would be a safe bet that my in dash display claims about 26mpg if I was to let it average out over a few fill-ups.
over the history of my car so far though it is an actual average of just over 24mpg (or 9.6L/100km)

Right now.... I have 33,4XX miles on it...
I've NEVER reset my DIC's AVG speed or MPG....
At this time, it reads 31.9MPG and 46 MPH
I check it from time to time at fillups and it goes between 27 and 34 MPG depending on how much HW/CIty driving I mix.
80% of my driving is highway. Seeing as I have had the car less than 1 yr ( 8/24 will be 12 months ) and I have that man miles on it... i think that's accurate...

Mileage does not have anything to do with the distance of a mile. So theres no kilometreage! lol--just means your fuel economy or the odometer mileage on a car.
I get about 8.5 L per 100km (thats on the high side) in my daily work commute in the city--thats 27 US mpg or 33 CDN MPG.
If I am running more errands, shorter distances and or more stop lights it will down down the 9.0-9.5L per 100km---US 24-26mpg.
G5 Mike--you get awful mileage! Are you driving around in first gear?
I reset it every fill up. I have never found the gas mileage to go up after X number of miles.

Right now I get right around 30 mpg like clockwork, at avg mph of 34. The DIC in the car always seems to think I'm getting like 28.7 or so. This is for an SS 2.4 with a stick, with mostly regular driving and a little bit on the gas here and there.
I was getting about 26 mpg until around 5 or 6k miles, but I suspect that the increase from 26 to 30 had more to do with it being summer time and no ethanol in the gas.

hahaha
I have the 2.2L, 5-spd, coupe. Injen CAI and upgraded exhaust that is explained in another thread.
I came home from a trip to Charleston today/tonight and with just a short drive on Hwy 78 to the interstate (I-26) and then Interstate driving at 65 and 70 MPH with an average speed of 70 mph and a distance of 112.7 miles my D.I.C. indicated 36.2 mpg without A/C, windows up, sunroof vented (popped-up).
I reset it when I filled up just before I left to come home so that's also on a full tank of fuel. I always reset it at every fill-up. I usually get anywhere from 30 to 34 mpg on a tank depending on where I do most of my driving and how I stretch my right leg. I will also say that as others have said, my D.I.C. usually calculates my mileage at about 2 mpg less than my calculations and every time I check behind it that's what I get right at a 2 mpg difference; so I didn't fill up when I got back to town (no need to) but it's likely that I got 38 mpg with the cruise set at 70 mph.
