this is really of no use to you, or have anything to do with your question.
but, if you ever jump on the ferry and come over the the mainland let me know, im just up the road from marine atlantic, could meet up sometime if you ever take the voyage over.
I seen 2 SS/SCs on a truck waiting for the ferry just last week, a yellow one and a black one with G85, I stopped to have a little peak at them.

There's isn't many SS 2.4's around the St. John's Area. I mostly see the LS's and a couple SS/SC's, but I've only seen ONE 2.4 around here and that's mine :)

Hey, I live in CBS and I just became a new member of the colbalt family with the purchase of a 2006 Colbalt SS Supercharged (yellow with Decals). Your sure to see me around, the yellow kinda stands out. To the best of my knowledge the car is still stock but I should get a better idea when I get it in the shop.

I saw you on Pitts Memorial a week or so ago....saw the yellow a mile away. I love the ss/sc in yellow...but I don't dig the decals that much

Yeah I know what you mean about the yellow, several of my friends have made the same comment to me. I guess there's no hiding now.... lol. On the up side, I have noticed that it turns a few heads and I have gotten quite a few comments. As for the decals, personally I like it, I have seen a few yellow cobalts around the city and I'm not to keen on the plain look of the yellow. I have gotten mixed comments on the decals.... 50/50 for the most part.

Now I have to start thinking about mods...... hummmm......

I won't be investing in any mods for a spell, perhaps the spring or early next summer depending on how the money situation unfolds. But I would like to get a few more horses under the hood.

Say anyone having problems with window tint around the city these days. I had on hell of a time last year, my insurance went through the roof due to tint tickets, had to remove tit Are the cops still strict on it??

Thanks!! Say, has anyone ever bothered to plan a little gathering so to speck here in St. John's?? I have noticed that others have done similar gathers, just wondering if anyone does the same here. Be nice to see in person some of the mods others have made and discuss possible future ones. Great way for newbies like myself to learn a little.

ive been to a few meets. theres not really enough cobalts for a good big meet

coling6
10-15-2007, 05:24 PM
i've talked to a few people about doing a new model pontiac/chevy meet, but it's never come about.

like sam said, there isn't enough cobalts.... but a newmodelyear chev/pontiac meet would probably draw 7-10 cars or so... mostly balts... two g5s and my g6.

Navarch: I've had 35% tint all around for about 1.5 years and I've been sat next to cops at intersections and haven't been ticketed.

Buddy of mine(guy who drives that red g6 in saunders sig) got a tint ticket from an rcmp...he has 20%...and apparently RCMP and highway enforcement are the real nazis about tint...not so much the rnc.

well if its gonna be done, its gonna have to be soon, cuz my car goes bye bye soon for the winter

I'm game if we can all agree to a time....anyone have a suggestion?

If we're gonna do a meet, we should look @ this week or the coming week as time is tight and the nights are cooler now.

Seeing how there may only be six or seven of us, we can look at doing it at a Tims, at least we can get inside if it is cool.

If we're going to do a run, rain will be an issue too.

Any time is good for me really well with the exception of a 8-5 job monday thru friday. Just let me know the date, time & location and I'll be there.

I know the RCMP have been rather difficult but I did have a lot of troubles from the RNC when I had my last car tinted...... 5% on back the windows & 20% on the front. I was thinking about doing 5% on the back and 35% on teh front.... perhaps I'll just do 35% all around. Thanks for the imput.

There's 4 or 5 SS/SC's out in Clarenville. Looks like if you want your question answered you're going to have to talk to a "baymen" lol. There's a couple Stage II's and one guy has a Stage 3. Stage II is a waste of money if you ask me. I drove my buddies '07 with it and dint really see a big difference. I'm passing on it now.

coling6
10-21-2007, 01:53 PM
you clarenville guys should come in for the meet

saunders1986
10-21-2007, 02:10 PM
dzld, hows stage 2 a waste of money? it gives you a nice kick in the butt, keeping the factory warranty. unlike stage 3, as soon as you give your vin for stage 3 you void ur power train warranty. stage 3 is a waste of money really, cuz u dont benefit much from it without upgrading ur valves and running a 50 shot of n2o. stage 3 is junk. only way to go after stage 2 is a 2.7 pulley, number 60 injectors, and HPTuners. and you keep your air conditioning (unlike how u loose it with stage 3) as for not feeling a big difference with ur buddys, "feeling a difference" isnt a good way to judge somethin, race him, get ur doors blown off, than say theres not much of a difference hahahaha! (its night and day really, stock ss/scs cannot keep up with me) as for 5 ss/sc's in clarenville WOAH! didnt know there was that many! i'm from marystown, and theres 4 up here, 2 black, 1 yellow and one silver (mine) also if u wanna go to the meet on the 30th, we could meet up in goobies and cruise in together! would be fun!

dzld
10-21-2007, 02:22 PM
Oh dont get me wrong it'll blow the doors off the stock one. I was just saying IMO that I'm going to wait and keep the $985 plus installation and labor and put it into other performance mods. You can get similar kits for the same amount that will give way more horsepower. As for voiding the warranty the Stage 3 was street legal but now it's not due to emissions. Thas why the SS/SC will not be offered in '08. I havent even been passenger in Stage 3 but i drove 2 with GMPP header and exhaust. Didn't feel a difference but on the speedo was a big difference.

985$ plus installation! HOLY FUCK! they are raping u soooo bad!!! i had mine done for 900 installed! (in Alberta) up here in marystown they do it for 1100 (including parts and labour)

stage 3 is and always was rated as off road use only. even states u loose ur warranty

dzld
10-21-2007, 02:47 PM
Unless it was $985 installed not sure, didn't bother with it.
