Your exhaust is 2.5" so get the 2.5" downpipe. :twothumbs

our down pipe is one of the most restrictive if not the most restrictive part of the whole exhaust system...

Yes it will fit stock exhaust , both the 2.5" and the 3" will work . They also will work with any aftermarket exhaust.

The 2.0 S/C has a 2.75" downpipe stock. The 2.4l has a 2.5" B-pipe stock (but it narrows down to 2" at the cat).

If your header has a 2.5" exit (stock or gmpp) you will get better performance using the 2.5" B-pipe - assuming you have a 2.5" catback or stock exhaust.

However, if you have a 3" catback or a 3" collector and header flange, you would probably be better with the 3" B-pipe.

Whichever one you want to go with . Since the GMP exhaust is 2.25" then i would choose the 2.5" DP with or without cat. IF you are looking to go high boost and change the GMP exhaust sometime then go 3" it will work also on that setup. Its up to you and your future plans . Also you can try and read through the other post about the xtc downpipe group buy as all these were already discussed to death.

From what i have found out i believe that is the california emmisions difference for the smog pump line. Most 2.2L do not have that port. That is the only difference in the manifolds.

the sound differance will be the same between the two.

yes it will be a louder tone...much louder tho...prob not.

and a slight differant tone as well...all caused by a smaller amount of backpressure and a larger pipe with much smoother flow.

ok here some info... ceramic core cat.... and it is not much louder... a bunch of us have em installed on our cars over here and its not a whole lot louder than stock... deeper tone and a bit louder but not much... now if you had a catback installed it will bump it up a notch.. and as long as your get it with cat it won't sound ricey

yes for 2 reasons, ur catback exaust system does not have a cat in it. it has a resonator, the catback exaust bolts to the stock cat....

and reason 2 with out the cat u will not pass emmisons (sp?)

if you look on gm parts direct its just listed for cobalt/ecotec.. no specific model engine... I don't see why it wouldn't fit, but I haven't tried it yet.

I would be in if i could have an answer from the company if i can get a 2nd bung in it for my Wideband. If so ill be in. Otherwise count me out. Been wating for at least 24hours ona PM and email didnt work. And i guess this post isnt either anyother idea how to reach them?

no it uses its own 02 sensor... its real easy to install.. I think it took my 15 min... very good guage

Anyone who wants a second O2 sensor it will be an additional $25.00 and come with a cap to block it off . The only need for an additonal O2 sensor port is if you want to keep the factory rear O2 sensor. Any WIDEBAND can fit in the rear O2 port and be wired into the factory plug to not through check engine lights . Most all widebands come with a low output to run the factory O2 wire. Most people with tunes shut off there rear o2 sensor as it doesnt do much but throw codes( especially without cat) and insert the wideband in that spot thus you dont need another port. The factory port we weld in at 10oclock position so that it can run a wideband with no problems ( as widebands need to be on certain angles) .

Also the GMP Manifold will fit all models (2.0 , 2.2 , 2.4L)except CALIFORNIA SMOG MODELS. They have a seperate sensor mount and port that others dont seem to have . So this will fit all Cobalt models then? Is there much of a difference between stainless steel and ceramic coated when it comes to "wear and tear"? I wish I could buy one now so that it could be sent to me with my downpipe.

How small is the outlet on that header?? It looks kinda tiny.

correction mr. paul...i have a 3" downpipe but the rest of my exhaust is 2.5"...and yes, big ups to CA for staying late. kenny is the man and thats why i like doing business with him.

listen guy you should read the posts.... (not you mike) They didn't originally authorize the group buy... but because of the response they decided to go with it... they are woking on the shop car after hours and welding all day to get your dp's done... in the term and conditions it says please allow 5-10 days for them to be shipped... if you bought one you agreed to those terms. so its your problem.. so just chill out... I was there the other night.. they are shipping as fast as they are being made....

Hey Badg1rl i'm not hearing great things about this dyno/tune day. I heard that there is absolutely nothing planned at all for this and usualy dyno/tune days are planned at least 2 months ahead of time. What's the real deal Donna? Thank you much.

Supposedly it will stop raining tomorrow afternoon.... hopefully...i would like to see you car out and about for once lol.... but I have a massive amount of things to do on my car tomorrow night (well not that bad mostly tuning) we are making a track run at atco sunday and I'd like to get the car runnin perfect... plus tossin in the 2.5 and possibly the header.. and finally install my rear tranny mount thats been in my trunk for over a month now... since I always get stuck working on everyone elses car but mine (my friend "borrowed" my jackstands 2 months ago and I haven't seen him since)

Thats messed up, the stock exahust is 2.5 in places 2.25 in other places and at the CAT it is actaully 2.0. Thats way this DP is gonna kick ass 3" hi-flow :)

i didnt know the stocker was that small...

yeah it really does suck... when we took mine off for comparison (if you check the site thats my stock DP) it was flattened in spots around the o2 sensor and the cat they use is decent for stock but not for high temp (high boost) applications... I've had my 3" on for a while now... no leaks no clog no problems and definatly makes a difference... tellin you guys its def worth the wait..

That it most definatly is... too bad you got the gmpp... they just released their header for the 2.5" outlet with a blow-out price of 199.99 plus shipping.,.. saw one and test drove with it last night.... definatly better performance (before and after run with a 3" d.p. w/cat)... but to all others that purchased a 2.5 d.p. they will have approx 20 units avaiable friday with another 30 or so in the next week... also they will be releasing a 3" outlet version soon for the 3" dp guys...
they'll be a seperate post up on that as soon as I get the pics up

that takes a whopping 15-20 minutes to install... no problem... I shoulb be there fairly early so I can bang that out quick... unless you want to wait til saturday afternoon... we can use the hoist at my house to knock it out too... but either way it isn't a problem
