Should I get an SS?
Should I get an SS?
I have been pondering the idea of possibly getting an SS w/the G85 pkg. I currently own a 04 WRX. I love the Rex to death, but the payments are kind of expensive. Oh, I just got married so I have a few bills to pay. Anywho, I was looking at an SS in my area with the G85, and the dealer said that they cant give me the gms discount on the SS's because they are only allocated 1-2 per dealer. Is that true? Or should I go to different dealers in the city.
go to a dif dealer...from what I know the dealer can choose to not give the discount but they are telling you a lie so that you'll still buy it from them and they'll make (take) an extra profit.
well its going to be really hard to find another with the g85 package so if you REALLy want that id go ahead and get that one. But otherwise, screw them and buy from a different dealership that will give the gm discount.
Ok, The first dealer is Gregg Young in Omaha. Just got off the phone with H and H in omaha. They wanted 27,995 for their non-g85 yellow SS. I about crapped my pants when I heard that price. I told them if I was going to by a car for 27,000 it wou;ld probably be a gto not a cobalt.

6-speed GTO with the GMS is at $30k right now, I might of waited and gotten one if I had known GM was going to offer this. Considering the car normally loses $2k-$3k just by driving it off the lot, just imagine how much it loses when you add the other $3k to $5k the bastards (the unscrupulous dealers, not all of them in general) tacked on for "market value". Remember the high demand and outragous prices of the PT Cruiser it's first year? I can't imagine what those poor fools felt like when their car was only worth $13k only one year after they paid $30k+ for it. Bill Heard wanted $30k for my SS, but I'd never pay anymore than msrp (and didn't). Just let them know you are very serious about buying the car but stand firm on the price. Chances are, if they don't come down and meet you on price today, they'll call you in a few days when no one else buys it.

If I had that much to spend I'd get a 2000-01 Audi S4 and install a stage 3 upgrade for an 11 second car.

You can test drive it if you buy it huh, that wouldn't really be a test drive, it'd be more like the drive home.
Mine was the first in Nebraska, I bought it 10 seconds after it rolled off the trailer.
Inlcluding the ones at dealers I doubt there are more than 6 in the state. The dealership I bought mine from was kinda upset that I got it for sticker. But the saleman already wrote up the deal so to bad.
