Thumbs up TWM Short Shifter Installed!

Mmmm short throw. PICS UPLOADED!!!

So its finally in. I went over to Seans (Ninja44) so he could make sure I didnt screw everything up. Me being brainless I forgot to bring the instructions. Everything was going great until we realized it didnt fit properly, there was no space for the lower gears (2nd, 4th, reverse). We later found out that there was some "modifying" required: cutting a square of tough plasic out of the original unit.

Sean wasnt available for the next couple of days so I decided to tackle the challenge. I used a small saw and cut out what I believed to be a large enough square so there would be no interference with the shifting. I put it all back together and started driving. Shifted to second and heard an unclipping sound. The shifter went dead and I was just rolling. Ahhh!!! HAZARD LIGHTS ON! Luckily I was in a residential neighbourhood. I took everything out and grabbed the saw again, made sure I cut extra space and put it back together again. Perfect fit.

Personal Review of Product:
I really like the TWM short shifter. To give you an idea, 1st gear to 2nd gear is now like 1st to Neutral when the car was stock. Everything is a bit leaned forward now also which I dont mind because the armrest used to get in my way when shifting to 2nd and 4th. Everything feels more solid now when shifting. The best way to describe it is the feeling when you get a stage clutch upgrade, and you feel the gears grabbing better. I dunno, shifting feels a lot nicer now. I highly recommend this product to anyone who doesnt mind cutting out a piece of the stock setup in exchange for a great feeling, improved efficiency and nice look.

Sorry for the long @$$ post. If you have any questions, post them. Later!

Hmmm that's a nice, cheap and affective mod. Good choice.

Cutting the shift time in half ought to give you some real gains, so congrats! But, I do have to say that the knob leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion... That's my only gripe, otherwise, great mod!

Def put the stock knob back on, thats what I did with mine and I love it.

Especially on really hot days, no need to brand yourself on a shifter eh?

NM, saw you're in just think the opposite on really cold days, lol

Looks really good though

What is the hieght difference from the console?

I'm not really interested in "short throws" as much as i am smooth non-missed shifts, the stock shifter ball is just cluncky as a ****. I also rest my hand on the shifter alot, the stock hieght is perfect for me to do that, not sure if the twm would.
