Well, I took my SS to the tuner fest today. It was the only one there  I got seven runs in before it rained. My best time was 15.015@91.55mph. My best r/t time was .016 and my best top speed was 92.36. Its not too bad for the first time with this car. I have only ran one other time at the track. It was a much slower car. Here are the times for my best run...
R/T ... .314
60' ... 2.282
330 ... 6.386
1/8 ... 9.711
MPH ... 71.97
1000 ... 12.594
1/4 ... 15.015
MPH ... 91.55
They also had free DYNO testing. She tested at 208.2 HP in a 3rd gear pull.

shave that 60' time another 1/10th and you will be real close to the 14.7x that the magazines quote. Nice run!

I would really hope he would be aiming for better than 14.7 with a decent 60ft really low 14's should be easy.

Well thought i would post my best time at the track, these cars are quick!! lets say that off the start, i never touched the tire pressure (still stock) nothing else done to the car and this is what i ran

60ft- 2.225
330ft - 6.377
1/8th et - 9.657
1/8 MPH - 75.64
1/4 ET - 14.692
1/4 MPH - 97.63

that was my best run only six or so runs on the car, i did brake the 100MPH mark but my time was only 15.27 (gotta love spinning the tires) Im new to this with a clutch car so trial and error , numbers tell me i should be in the 14.3 or 14.2 with that mile an hour going through the traps.. any ideas on a quicker et? with the same MPH.. Oh btw the air was great and it was nice and cool so that would have helped immensley...

Good Job!

As for things that will help (I have an SRT-4 and I'm sure some of the things I learned will transfer over):

1. Lower the tire pressure, but not alot. I usually ran (with stock tires) about 35 on the road, at the track I lowered them to 25 and went from 2.3 and 2.4 60's to 2.1 and 2.2's... However when I lowered the pressure to only 28psi, I got 2.0's.

2. If it is fairly simple to do (for an SRT-4 it is 4 10mm nuts) take the wing off. I gained .1 in the 1/4 and about 1.5mph by taking the wing off.

3. Cool down. Your car will make it's best HP when it is warmed up, but not fully hot... around 150 degrees (F). If the staging lane is long, then push the car forward in the staging lanes rather than starting it, driving forward, and then turning it off (or even worse sitting there idling). Also you should be able to do a "Fan" mod, in which you bypass the computer and turn the radiator fans on manually. The way it works with the SRT-4 is that with the switch off, the ECU controlls the fan normally, with the switch on, the fan comes on whether or not the ECU wants it on. This helps cool things down between runs.

Also it looks like (by the 330' numbers) that you may be spinning a bit in 2nd. Lowering the tire pressure will help there, along with not power-shifting (WOT shifting) into 2nd. Or at least that worked for me when I was stock.

Dangit. Florida's nice and all, but we have crappy track weather except for like 2 days per year.

Nice times, btw.

Where did you run that? Elevation? Seen an SS/SC run here (3500ft) and they didnt break into the 14's at all (to be expected)

I've run a 14.707 at 96.1 at a track temp. of 90 degrees and a 14.87 at 95.6 at a track temp of a 120 degrees. I've had higher trap speeds of 98 mph but I did a 15.03. When the temps come down in fall, I'm thinking 14.4's or 14.5's. I own the non-LSD version. This car has the potential of hitting 13.99's with slicks, I hope someone does it soon!

Drop the clutch at 1500 rpm, make sure you do not step on the accelerater until the tires grab, then punch the pedal. This may get you decent results. If that doesn't work, don't drop the clutch at all, let engine do the work. You'll have to deal with the wheel spin in 1st gear when it starts boosting hard. I netted my best time of 14.707 using the last technique and a 14.87 using the first technique. I believe better times are possible in cooler conditions come along. It was hot as hell when I did those times! :cssNET:

Both very solid runs, espescially for Summer. You will find that these SC cars love it when its cool. When I lived in Arizona up until 2 months ago, I always liked running from October to February. Best ET's were temps in 40-50's. The 14.6 is actually faster than I thought the Cobalt would do. Seems the 205HP is actually WHP and not at the crank. Very nice and cheaqper than most of the other Tuner Cars out there. I would consider one if I was a younger single guy for sure.

Speaking of Video:
Here is one from Arizona. Not a Cobalt but two Supercharged Cars anyways. Me in Platinum Regal vs Black Grand Prix GTP I think its only a 14.12 run.
