ok gm's manifold for our cars is a joke....side by side there is no difference...performance division said there is a difference that is not noticable by the naked eye...DONT BUY THIS...

WOW, I have heard of people getting 5-6whp out of that. It's extruded and honed so how could it not yeild some HP?

 

funny, i noticed the results of this as soon as i stepped on the gas.....

 

yeah, the reason it's still a cast part is threefold... it fits perfectly, it still keeps the heat in so that it warms the cat fast and it's more durable than a tube style...

the extra cost is in the honing, it smooths out the flow quite a bit. i've heard good things from 2.2, 2.4 and 2.0SC owners.

 

I didnt notice a difference between the two... and the guys at gm performance have received multiple calls today asking what the difference is....i will try it i hope it does help a bit...thank you all maybe got angry before i drove it

 

well, different cars will respond differently to it. also, remember, 6 hp at 200hp is a 3% difference, so, it's not going to make a world of change

 

i know my techs didnt notice a difference at all...and i thought it was supposed to flow 10% better over stock...

I heard from a source that it was tested by a company other than GM against aftermarket headers and provided equal HP gain.
I don't have any details but the source it came from was reliable.

Keep in mind that it is the identical manifold but polished so no worries about fit etc.

I can tell you that there is a difference, one you can see. Hell, you can feel it too (with your finger).

 

This is why im thinking of just sticking with the manifold. It will last longer and gains are within roughly 1 or 2 hp of each other. To me manifold is probly the best. If I dont go this route tho, ill go with CA Header

 

if/when I buy it I wanna keep it off the car to polish the outside as well maybe do a high heat powder coat if possible. If the aftermarket aint doing all that much better there is really no reason to go with one.

 

yes there was a noticeable difference driving....i retract my statement...and by looking at it there wasnt much difference in my opinion...

I bought one. And there is a differnce that is noticeable on the manifold. its smooth on the inside and not all rough. Performance i didnt really notice but i also need to get it tuned.

 

my question is how would it do in my LT, hp wise....? or should i stick with the armor coated pacesetter header?

I had the manifold on my 2.4... it wasn't a huge difference with the NA engine... but you could tell there was something done.

I'd say 5 hp gain...

Maybe you should've tried this first or asked people that have it what they think before making a post telling people that it's a joke and not to buy it. You should see a 5-6whp gain on a stock to lightly modded car, probably more on a highly modded car. That's hardly a joke.
