Trading in Cobalt

I am trading in my 2006 cobalt ss n/a for a saturn ion redline this week. I hate my cobalt

(just because of the problems) but i am going from paying $300 a month for 4 years with a

lease to paying $404 a month for 6 years without a lease, is that a good deal? i just need

opinions before i actually get it.

thanks

so by the end of your contract you'll be paying over $29,000 for a saturn? that should pretty much answer your question.

What is wrong with the Cobalt? And do you expect the Ion to be significantly better?

If you're having a bunch of 'fit and finish' issues, you're not gonna be any happier in the Redline, if you're having mechaincal issues, you might be better off moving to a newer car, and the '07's all have 100,000 mile warranties.

My Redline has been good over all. I road race with it, and drag race with it, the only things that ever went wrong with it was the starter and the intercooler pump. THat's 30,000 miles now...

However, to pay $30k when you can find '06s on lots for $19k without a discount.... is kinda nutty...

the saturn itself isnt $30,000...its actually in the 19 range but the rest is interest and the

rollover from my cobalt.

So either way whatever i do is going to kill me.

I would like to get a 2007 cobalt ss s/c but all the chevy dealers tell me is that they would

have to add on all my payments that i have left to my payments which would be $10000

more. I DEFINATELY CANNOT STICK IT OUT WITH THIS CAR!

I have never done anything to my cobalt as in mods and its hardly driven anymore

because i bought a beater because of the problems...The CEL light comes on every other day,

none of the dealerships around here can figure it out, i have major brake problems, it stalls

when im driving sometimes at school it wont start, then when im driving home it will tell me to

service airbags and tells me i have low fuel and actually don plus most of the lights are on such

as ABS....theres more i just cant think of them right now.

Pay more than your monthly payment and the monthly mark will go down. Because you've still got money to pay on the Cobalt, you're going to get reamed, but if it's giving you so many problems, you don't have much of a choice. However, I would look into lemon laws in your state before trading for the Ion.

If you had read the link that DC52NV posted, you would notice a link for other states at the bottom that would send you here: http://www.lemonlawfirm.com/ for NY State.

Good luck!

And yes, even though the list on the Redline you are looking at is 19k, after the loan is done you would have actually payed 30k for a Saturn...no way. I would look into the lemon law first and see about getting a new SS/NA or at least getting them to man up and fix your problems. Have you contacted GM Customer Care regarding the problems you are having?

Or he could pay 30k for another SS/SC?

who cares that it's a 'saturn', ti's the same freaking car bassically!

I'm not trying to start a flame war, but it annoys me when people say it's 'just a saturn'.

he could be paying the same ammount for 'just a cavalier replacment'.

I like the Cobalts, and the Ions, they are both Delta's with the same damn powertrain, so lay off the saturn!
