215/60/16 fitment?

These are only slightly larger circumference wise than the stock tires, but has anyone actually had this size tire on? I know it has been discussed quite a lot on the fitment of 16" Catera wheels, but can we definitely run these without having to machine the calipers?

I got a set of these on ebay for $170 for all four wheels with bridgestone blizzaks on them. Making a little road trip to Cleveland this weekend to pick them up. I figure its worth my time to spend $40 in gas rather than $85-$100 in shipping.

HAHA, I was watching that same auction, but I already have a set of Catera wheels so I decided not to bid, you got a hell of a deal. I thought the tires were 215/55/16?? But 60s should still be fine, but you speedo will be just a bit more off.

Picked up the wheels/tires this weekend and they look great. still a lot of tread left on them. Two of the tires are worn more on the inside because of the toeing on they guy's catera. I figure I can still get 2-3 winters out of the tires. Awesome deal for $175!

Wow, I need snow tires as well. What a great deal! So Catera wheels fit our Cobalt SS Supercharged without problems? Would you have any pics to share?

Thanks

Check out my gallery, there are pictures of the wheels on my car. There are very very very close to hitting, but should be good if you are using them for winter tires or DRs.

I am currently trying to buy some snow tires now, hopefully I can get a decent set for under $400.

Nice deal, Brian! I got mine last winter. G6 wheels for $65/wheel and 4 brand new WinterSport M3s (205/60/16) at $100/each. So yeah, you got one helluva deal.

Which Blizzaks did you get. Depending on the type, don't know whether you've been told this or not, you can't go above about 75mph or you'll nuke em. My friend's husband goes through 1 1/2 sets PER WINTER cause he can't keep out of the gas when it's not snowing.

On the auction the guy had that they were blizzak WS-15's. Looking around, I can't find that this tire exists. So I think they are WS-50's. I'll have to look when I get home.

I'll ask Melissa, I know a lot of the Blizzies can't go above 75-80 without literally the treat melting off. That was one BIG deterrant when I bought mine. Now, given the deal you got on em, don't know how concerned you are with tread life, so it might not matter as much.

I'm not that concerned with treadware right now. Even if I only get one season out of them, it was worth it. Hell, the rims were well worth the price I paid, the tires were a bonus.

I'm not too concerned about going over 75 mph with them on. I rarely go over 80 now for more than a few minutes with the pirelli's on. I wouldnt be very likely to go over 75 with the snow tires on anyway.

LOL if only I could say the same thing..........my driver's record would probably be a lot prettier too.

As long as you keep the speed/hard starts to a minimum they'll last a good while. Speed junkie that I am, I had to get snows that were rated to 130, LOL.

Where did you get the G6 wheels? Right now, I'm thinking of getting Dunlops as well, they have the new WinterSport 3D replacing the M3s. Should I get 215/55/16 or 205/60/16?

I got them on eBay.

Go with 205s, the narrower the tire the better in snow.

I think that the majority of them will, you just need to check with clearance and everything. Check my gallery, that is what my Cater wheels look like, I am talking millimeters of clearance, I hope I don't have to grind on the calipers...

If they're from a 9-3 they will. I believe 9-5 wheels fit as well.

Holy hell, that's tight. My G6 wheels are not that close. They're 16s too. Here's my front brake clearance:
