For those who have/had 42lb injectors and 2.8" pulley

How much difference in power will i feel or notice? I want to be able to feel a difference with my 3" pulley because I want to be able to beat my friends srt-4. The thing is that i just dont want to be dissapointed with the performance. So if anyone has any input, it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Are you planning on getting it tuned as well?

Yes. I will be having Liavy17 do my custom tuning, but for a couple of weeks ill be running it with a maf-t. Will the maf-t make a difference between custom tuning?

You can use the maf t but you need a wideband a/f gauge so you can see what your a/f ratio is. The tune will be better than the maf-t

ill probably get it tuned within a week or two of me getting the parts installed but can i safely run the maf-t with Intense's recommended settings? I already had the maf-t which is why i am using it for now.

There are a couple discussion threads in regards to a 2.8" pulley with 42lb injectors.
It seems as though you do need 60lb injectors with a 2.8" pulley and smaller.

I think intense also recommened that you have a wideband to check your a/f. Just takes that one time to go lean and your done.

This thread was good for a laugh.

why? cause the arguement over 2.8 and GMS2 goes on and on. be honest with people. tell them some say you are safe just bolting it on and others feel you need to do more.

IMO the car is not going to blow up cause it goes lean. have you ever ran a car out of gas? what happened? was it done? know you added gas and went on your way. if it were to be lean then you would just not have as much power as you could have. this aint a two stroke motor or some model airplane. plus it never goes really lean. all evidence I have seen is 13:1. most who have shown real data are like 11:1 which is on the money.

but there are some who find different and feel they need more or worry about the injectors going static (remain wide open) and need bigger injectors.

GM has published that 42lbs injectors are good to 400 HP. I just dont know why people have also not considered the source of their data. I would. I did. I have formed my own opinion. but I am also not afraid to share both sides of the argument.

Thank you ssnipes. I always get mixed opinions when I ask about putting certain performance parts on my car. I think as long as i run the maf-t with the suggested settings, i should be fine until a tune.

Exactly, the most duty cycle you want to see is 80% otherwise you can go static. Plus 6,100rpm is garbage. That's lower than our stock setting. You guys do what you want but it will takes it's toll after a couple of years. Plus that 400hp rating for the 42lb injectors that came from GM was based on building the internals not small pulleys.

Doesn't intense run a 2.8 with 42.5's? I don't see why you all are freaking out, If you don't think it's right, don't do it.

PS: My car runs great! When it was dynoed it was a little rich still. (Mind you, im at altitude)

Cobalt Addiction stage 3 comes with a 2.7 and 42lb injectors.
i asked them about this. their response was.
does leave much room for upgrades but you wont encounter any problems with them and their tune. the flattened out the fuel table or something.

check out their site.

+1, ive seen that before. the 42lb injectors are damn near worthless LMAO! Im gonna be running them with a 2.85 pulley, but only for a bit. 60lb's are in the near future.
