how tough are these cars?

So i'm in nashua new hampshire on my way home to billerica. i get on an on ramp and its a long smooth swooping one so i drive it fast but under control ( no tire squeeking ) just cruising it, then all the sudden bam 90 degree turn and no way in hell i can make it. I go over the median across 2 lanes of high way (rt 111 east) across another median and stop luckly in the breakdown lane of rt. 3 . car wont move. get out and look and man did i mess it up. wheel is almost comletely ripped off. front end on the ground liquids everywhere. no body damage at all. well until the flat bed comes to drag it up and then the fender crumples and front end crumples.

Anyone know what i could of damaged and the possibility of it being fix? totaled? from the look from behind the frame looked bent = totaled. but that could of looked that way because the drive side front was on the ground.

i won't get word from the dealership for a few days cuz of the holiday and how i know i really messed it up.

also no1 has to lecture me about being a moron i know what i did wrong

the pictures i took just show the front end on the ground. there was no way i was laying down under the car on the side of the highway, i was so close to the edge that cars going by were shaking my car. all i know is i messed it up real good.

just drive side was down, the only 3 wheels were fine just the whole driveside front wheel, front end, frotn everything basically.

That sounds painful. I've lost at least one car (GA ripped in half by F-150) in that area (Nashua/Tyngsboro/Chelmsford) and had too many close calls to count. Best of luck.

I'm trying to figure out what this thread has to do with the toughness of the car? Your title should read "I crashed" or "I'm a moron" jk.

Without pictures it's hard to get an idea of what's wrong with your car. I'm sorry you wrecked but at the same time just be thankful you didn't hurt anyone. Be more careful in the future.

toughness off the car would be i went over all that **** and didnt put a scratch on the body, went over all that **** and might not of bent the frame or totalled the car. toughness being the bill that has to be paid.

new hampshire and vermont are notorious for **** like this... I think i known the ramp you'r talking about. I launched a Chevy Impala off of it one night. There's no warning or anything... just 90 degrees or death.

Insurance is for mistakes like this... just glad you're ok. Cars can fixed or replaced.

i'm not doubting that. so far from visual damage. suspension, tye rod, tye rod assembly, ripped axle out of transmission, steering knucle, control arm, broken seals with grease and oil everywhere

starting to look like R.I.P. Cobalt

I've done something similar, and originally there was estimated to be 2000 in damage: the front bumper and raer bumper, that was it.

Until they looked at the alignment and found the entire frame was twisted a few degrees.

Damn! Keep it on the track. Sounds like an expensive joy ride. Good thing for insurance.

It is impossible to bend the frames on our cars because they do not have one. They are unibodys. You cannot seperate the body from the chassis. Not trying to start any sh**. Just a little FYI.

got the car back friday nov 3rd. good as new with a new sub frame. hope it rides the same in the next couple weeks so i can keep it. only thing i'm pissed about is the dealer screwed up my playstation and power converter and had to argue for like an hour to get them to fix it
