Stock tire life??

I was wondering what everybodys tire life was on their stock pirelli's? Im at 20k miles and mine are pretty much completely gone... just curious cause 20k seems to be really short to me.

Yes the life of the stock Pirelli's suck. It's an overrated tire at an overrated price.

The treadwear rating (or longevity rating) of the tire is only 180. With that averaging between 15,000 miles to 25,000 depending on how you drive it. There are better tires out there at a better price.

If you go with say a 225/40/18 your selection of tires nearly doubles and they're cheaper. It's the same heigh as stock 215/45/18's but just a tad bit wider.

Your pirellis are lasting longer than my stock Continentals. I have about 11,500 miles on them and they are pretty much bald however it is mainly due to the fact that I've been doing a good job of burnig them off so I have a reason to get good tires

Here's a few of the cheaper all season choices in the 225/40/18 sizes for you guys. they range from $74.00 to i think $115.00. i personally like the Avon's (2nd from the bottom) and the Sumitomo's (middle picture). i've had the sumitomo's before and they are quiet and have pretty good wet traction and my buddy has the avon's on his audi tt and he loves them. hope this helps you out.

I like the P-Zero Nero's between these two. they look better IMO and they have a better tread wear rating. Also they are rated for snow.

P-Zero Nero's
215/45/18's are $125.00
225/40/18's are $137.00

P-Zero Rosso's (Stock)
215/45/18's are $182.00
225/20/18's are $200.00

i got 34k miles on my stock pzeros. i replaced them with the p zero nero m&s. they are almost as good on dry pavement as stock, but surprising not a lot better on water. i have yet to drive in snow, which was next to impossible on the stock pzeros. i currently have 15k miles on the m&s tires and they are showing a little more than half tread life left. hope this adds to your info.

the kumhos are very good tires.
i got about 15,000 miles outta my pirellis, but that included one serious road trip as well.
I got my new ones off of tire rack too, and im extremely satisfied.

I didn't know it was such a low-mile'd tire until I went this weekend to get a nail plugged and they told me I need 4 new tires. lol
