When you guys tune your PCM's why do you raise the piston protection to 7k? Isn't it set at 3600 for a reason. Shouldn't you be able to tune with out raising it?

Sorry - didn't know about this thread until just now...

The Piston Protection Enable RPM parameter is the engine speed which must be exceeded to enable fuel enrichment specifically for piston protection.

Our tunes are the result of countless hours on the dyno using a wideband air/fuel monitor. We target a flat line air/fuel 'curve', which completely eliminates the need for this supplemental fuel enrichment table. Here are some recent sample dyno charts with INTENSE tunes. Notice how well we have the air/fuel under control without the need for the parameter you questioned...
