Dezod 10-11-2006, 02:18 PM That's right the one GM has used on their race car is now available in LIMITED quantities. We have updated our website to reflect the price of the unit.

This is a Stage 3 Hyper Single Disc Clutch with Flywheel but does not come with a release bearing. (re-use OEM one). It will hold up to 450ft/lbs of TQ. It is a sprung 6 Spline disc that is race ready!
CTCOBALTSSS 10-11-2006, 02:20 PM Ah that's the one on the Time Attack Cobalt. That's the only clutch you would ever need! :guns:
stotte20 10-11-2006, 02:23 PM sweeeet ness i would love to get ahold of one of them
Bad06SS 10-11-2006, 02:27 PM Can you get it witout the flywheel? I already have the Fidenza is why I'm asking.
R33P3R007 10-11-2006, 02:35 PM what flywheel is it. is it a fidenza lightwieght? or a oem replacement made Lighter? or what.
memphisr24 10-11-2006, 02:44 PM I'm going to wait until the prices drop a bit before even thinking about getting one, but that is probably going to be the best clutch out there for our cars. Does anyone know if the Time Attack cobalt is still using the same exedy clutch they first put in? Or are they on a 2nd one?
campo165 10-11-2006, 02:45 PM haha 1,150 bucks. thats a good one.
DWK5150 10-11-2006, 02:46 PM From what I have heard it doesnt sound like the price is gonna drop and if it does it wont be very much. Hopefully that is wrong though and it will come down.
Joewit 10-11-2006, 02:49 PM does anyone know how this is clutch for daily driving?
R33P3R007 10-11-2006, 03:27 PM from what i hear a 6 puck with a lightened flywheel is a bitch for daily driving. but we have yet to hear if it comes with a lightened flywheel or just a replacement for the stock one.
DWK5150 10-11-2006, 03:28 PM does anyone know how this is clutch for daily driving?
I dont think anyone has one yet as they are fairly new on the market.
distillion 10-11-2006, 03:30 PM i think its gonna be a bitch....
jlewis2578 10-11-2006, 03:43 PM For high-powered applications EXEDY offers Multi plate clutches. These are designed for hot street action as well as drag, road, and rally racing. All of our multi plate clutches come with a lightweight chromoly steel flywheel, and the famous purple anodized forged aluminum clutch cover. Depending on the application, both strap drive and lug drive models are available. All have T5001 cerametallic friction materials for extreme heat resistance. The multi plate clutches are rated up to 800+ foot pounds of torque at the flywheel. And come with spring damper or solid discs depending on the application.
Which one is the one available from DZOD??
DWK5150 10-11-2006, 03:46 PM The stage 3 is a single disc.
sneaky 10-11-2006, 03:50 PM nothing is light when you talk about steel and light...
sounds like a killer clutch
Joewit 10-11-2006, 03:52 PM The stage 3 is a single disc.
So it shouldnt be too bad for daily driving
06black 10-11-2006, 04:08 PM BUWHAHAHAHHA....1100bucks!!!
thats fuckin funny!
go go spec 3+!
Dezod 10-11-2006, 04:30 PM Can you get it witout the flywhee? I already have the Fidenza is why I'm asking.
It comes with an Exedy lightened flywheel. Exedy only sells this one configuration fellas. Sorry about that.
To answer the pricing question, I doubt this will come down considering the build, materials and flywheel being included. Overall a decent price IMHO considering most people are paying $4-500 for a clutch that is an OEM replacement and another $300 for a lightened flywheel. That is already $700-800 and it will not keep up with the TQ capacity that this 1 clutch/flywheel assembly will hold. This holds 450 ft/lbs!!!!!
With respect to a 6 spline sprung daily, it may not be for the weak at heart. I know plenty of turbo Civic, turbo Integra, turbo RSX, SRT-4, EVO 8, STi etc owners that drive 4 and spline clutches with higher TQ capacity for their apps without a problem. It will just take some getting used to.
WSFrazier 10-11-2006, 04:34 PM Why is everyone bitching about the price. By time you order a Spec 3+ w/ Flywheel, your right around 1000-1100.
Spec 3+ holds more power, but I will wait to see whoever installs this first has the same issues some other clutches have. I know when I was shopping for this, Exedy sent me a specification sheet that said they only recommended 280 TQ @ Wheels Max for Drag use. Was not enough for me, but I'm sure that is only a recommendation and could handle more.
Expensive but Exedy and ACT are the only 2 products I would put in my car.

This one holds 450 ft/lbs of TQ. I do not think your referring to the same one.

Thats @ the flywheel and for circuit use.

Correct, even with a 15% drivetrain loss, that is still 382 wheel TQ.
WSFrazier 10-11-2006, 08:02 PM Here is the Spec sheet they sent me, attached is the PDF.
I still think this clutch would be great, I just didn't want to be the first person trying it :D
06black 10-11-2006, 08:10 PM man-o-man when is there duel plate gonna come out!?
Here is the Spec sheet they sent me, attached is the PDF.

I was sent the same PDF. But I still think this clutch will fair better than anything out there right now. I was almost the first when Exedy offered me the clutch in late july but i just didnt have the money. $1300 with free install.

Dezod 10-23-2006, 10:26 AM yeah..............up!!!!!!!!!
Shortbus 11-05-2006, 11:34 PM So this clutch can handle how much?
chipmonk212121 11-06-2006, 02:48 AM ...15% drivetrain loss.... i dont think thats accurate for a manual..... i think thats about right for an automatic, not a stick
...15% drivetrain loss.... i dont think thats accurate for a manual..... i think thats about right for an automatic, not a stick
i believe chevy quotes 17% drivetrain loss for the ss/sc. so you really never know, however that sounds like a gross overestimate.
as for this clutch. i don't see why so many people are complaining. you spend almost 600 bucks for a spec clutch and another 400 for the spec flywheel. that's 1000 bucks for SPEC! spec aint got shit on exedy.

This was my exact argument. We have sold a few, but not as many as I had thought we would.
Shortbus 11-07-2006, 10:53 PM I will be purchasing one soon, iam not complaining about price, just want to know what its really rated at.
chipmonk212121 11-08-2006, 02:32 AM i want that one, i just hope the driveability is good. its my DD
Dezod 11-08-2006, 01:08 PM We sold our shelf one, and now we have 1 on order from Exedy and is already taken by a IRL fella.
blown06 11-08-2006, 01:18 PM I plan on ordering one in next couple of months, clutch is slowly going out grrr. Trying to hold off till taxes, but I guess we will see

cuz you dont need a flywheel....and spec makes some DAM solid units.
i'd put a spec up against a exedy any day.
the dubble plate unit is a differant stroy.
What's the pedal presure like on the EXedy Stage 3? Is it daily driveable or nautilus machine?
