Carbon Fiber SS Badges

I have been trying to find a Carbon Fiber Front Bowtie for a while now. Holland Specialties wont return my E-mails and as far as I know, thats the only place to get them. So I decided to try some CF Vinyl. It was more difficult than I thought to cover the Bowtie and have it look good. So, I gave up for now.

I decided to experiment with the Vinyl on the SS Badges and this is my result. All My SS Badges are CF except the interior one (To small to do right) and I put an Impala SS Badge up front. The Badges look nice in my opinion and will go nice with my future CF hood and Wing. I'm Just not sure on the SS Front badge, It might be a little ricey. Please give me your opinions.

i like but i think the front one is a bit too big. Maybe downsize a bit and it will look real nice. But i like the cf look in it

It's either the Big SS or the Little SS. No middle ground.

I think I'm going to keep the front SS until I find a CF Bowtie. The Bowtie looks better. The other badges will stay though.

I ordered a Cobalt side SS to put on the front just yesterday (should be in today). Is it smaller than the Impala SS badge? In any case, I like yours. When I do the silver stripe on the trunk of my car, I plan to move the back SS to where the bow tie is and leave off the bow tie and C-o-b-a-l-t. I think the bow tie on the back of the 4-door is bolt-on, not stick-on like the coupe. If so, I will have to make sure the SS covers the holes.

What vinyl did you use? Where did you get it? This is exactly what I was going to do, but hadn't found a source for the vinyl CF. If you have some left-over to sell, let me know I need a bit more CF trim so the scoop isn't the only CF part on the car. In fact, I was searching for a post about the CF wing center for the SS/SC when I found this post (now the trick is using the CF wing center as a low pro wing on my car!).

The Impala bagde is a lot bigger than the cobalt one (Almost twice the size). I got the vinyl from a company on RME.net. Look in curtis' thread about his black vinyl stripes and you will get a link to the supplier. I only have a little left but it might be enough. The cf vinyl isn't cheap though, lol.

Your idea sounds good, it will look nice. I ordered a cf bowtie finally for the front so i'll take off the impala ss anyway. The other badges look awesome though and will go good with my future cf wing, hood and fr/valve covers. Now all i need is money.

I just picked up my SS emblem - It's the one off the Cobalt tail. It's just about the size of the front grill bar.

I'll check out Curtis' thread, but if you want to sell me the scraps they might be enough to do the front one before I install it.

Did you do the side ones in place, or take them off? Does the front bow tie attach just by sticky, or are there nuts on the back of the bar I have to get to? We need a how-to! I suppose you just used an X-acto knife to trim the vinyl in place to the bottom of the SS (where it's white).

I assume you mean the trunk bow tie.

COOL! That makes it much easier to replace the bow tie with the SS.

THANKS!! Gotta love this forum - someone somewhere has probably already done whatever it is we need to know!

The front bowtie is bolted on, and there are 4 holes under it!!! I covered the holes with vinyl and it loooks clean.

I just put the cf on the bowtie and pressed it in, then I cut it out with a very sarp xacto knife, it worked great, no need to take off badges.

How do you get to the nuts that hold the bow tie on the front?

Pop the hood and look where the hood latch is, reach behind if nec. to find nuts. Its a 10mm I think but not sure. Be careful not to strip them.
