K&N Filter not fitting on SS

When installing a K&N filter on a SS is it suppose to pop in? The filter that is on there pops in and stays in there. I noticed the K&N one was not fitting in the hole and falling down. This does not seem right. I know some people take off the housing for it so clearly it has to click in or something.

Anyone who has just put in a K&N filter, how did it go in? If it doesn't fit in properly what would I do to make it fit/what parts would I need? If there is a how to guide or explanation that I missed link that up as well.

Thanks,

i had this problem when i bought a K&N
i was so disgusted with the fitament and support when i started asking questions that it went back to the shop the same day and i ordered an AEM dryflow.

(which by the way slipped on nice and snug like it should)

After bringing this point up on here though, i just got a bunch of weird comments like people didnt know what i was talking about.

I dont know. either some of the K&N neck diameters are off, or people just didnt pay that much attention and put the bottom cover back on without noticing the pathetic sloppy fit.

(and yes i bought the right part number)

What filter model did you get and where did you get it from? When I got my filter, it was exactly the same size as the stock one, and fit exactly the same way. Someone sent you the wrong one.

A local guy has a Arrival Blue SS/SC and he had me install the E-0777 K&N in it for him. It fit nice and tight when I first put it on over two monts ago. Last week he had me check it and it didn't fit snug at all anymore. Without the botton on it would fall off!

The OEM one uses a foam like inlet that holds nice and tight where as the K&N rubber seems to dry out and expand.
