Yes, the end date is Dec. 15th, giving you PLENTY of time to get your cash together. Obviously, the sooner, the better... because Yonaka can sometimes have periodic backorders since these seats move quick.

Sounds like a damn good deal. I assume these are high quality non flimsy like the Recaro's in the G85 ss's? Synthetic Leather looks good.

Yes, Yonaka makes some GOOD SEATS; and that's exactly the reason I stated above that they can have some short backorders sometimes... they sell fast every time a delivery comes in.

We ran a group purchase about 1 year ago on www.j-body.org and I believe we sold around 20 sets on that run. I don't recall any unhappy customers, although one guy didn't quite like the cloth, saying it wasn't quite what he expected. Other than that, well-praised seats!

Consider this a free bump but this really gets my goat.....

1 thing on this planet for the cobalt finally comes out of canada.....

if something costs $15 to ship in the us...were usually paying $40 or more to ship it to canada.....

finally its our turn to save! YES! we save a measly 5 bucks on an $80 shipping order......

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

btw these seats look killer...

For anyone wondering... you'll have to fab up brackets to mount these. Here's a link to a great "how-to" that a j-body.org member did earlier this year (http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=45&i=70273&t=70273).

Mercury

when will these start shipping?

jasonaudio
11-16-2006, 02:14 AM
Guess is 1-2 weeks after order. There's a 4 SET minimum that needs to be reached before they do. That should not take long and we're already on the way. We have this group buy going on over at www.j-body.org as well so there won't be any long waits.

sunfirejoe
11-16-2006, 02:50 AM
yah im in as soon i get my cc bill to check my limit to make sure i can afford them
lol, these have a latch for getting ppl in and out of the back seat

jasonaudio

just curious whats the difference between synthetic and regular leather?

jasonaudio
11-17-2006, 01:12 PM
Leather is obviously real leather... the synthetic leather is a little more slippery/glossy and is a fake leather simulated material.

I just realized that these seats won't work well in the cobalt because the other end of our seatbelts are actually attached to our stock seats... :(

Yeah I suppose... But now this is getting pretty unsafe constructing your own seatbelt mount. Eeekk... :cussing:

Only if you half ass it. Analyze the stock mounting tabs and make or have some made that are comparable in dimensions and made of a mild steel you should be fine. Be sure to use Grade 8 hardware to ensure that it is safe and secure.

That is a good write up but it won't work for us cause our seats only have 2 bolts in the back and they have pieces of metal that slide into slots in the front.

Do you know if the brackets and sliders that Gravana sells will work for these seats?
What happens with the airbag sensor?
How does the seat belt get attached?
And does syn. leather get hot like real leather?

jasonaudio
11-28-2006, 12:40 AM
Unfortunately I do not own a Cobalt so I don't know all the ins & outs of them yet... enough to give a real good explanation on the installation.

Do you know if the brackets and sliders that Gravana sells will work for these seats?

***We in fact sell these same brackets as well... although I'm not 100% sure if they'll work. Chances are they'll work fine, but there would probably be some drilling still for holes to line up.

What happens with the airbag sensor?

***That I'm not sure on... sorry.

How does the seat belt get attached?

***Again, that would be something I'm not sure on. Should be an easy fix though I would think.

And does syn. leather get hot like real leather?

***I haven't used the synth. leather in a vehicle before... so I don't know if they get hot/cold/etc. I would assume they do have similar characteristics like that because of the similar material specs.

We have the same brackets available. They are made specifically for the Cobalt, but not specifically for these seats. Most brackets like that are made specific for Tenzo or Sparco style seats. They are easily modified for new seats with some additional drilling.

Not a problem if you don't want them though... ;)

jasonaudio
12-12-2006, 12:21 AM
Mercury & everyone else...

This sale does END on Dec. 15th Friday, BUT I can most likely still honor this pricing through the end of Dec, as long as this post is mentioned when ordering.

Be sure to get your order in asap to ensure a quick ship.

All of your pictures are here - http://www.yonaka.com/product_categories.asp?catid=113&cn=Racing%20Seats

Please contact me via email, PM or phone to order. The pricing of $255 is quite old, and there has been 1 Yonaka price increase since then. I can come close to it, but not quite that low.

Dunno how old this thread is but I have pics of these installed on another thread. Also I'm using factory seatbelts and airbag sensor/seatbealt sensors.
