Out it all comes! I mean all

I am getting ready to pull out the tranny to, just ordered a spec 2+ clutch, so i will have my motor and tranny out at the same time, all without dropping the subframe while the car is on jackstands.

i quit modding after this......................................

my time frame is next saturday to have a running car, just depends how fast turbotech can get my clutch to me gm can get my cranshaft bolts, and intense can get my pistons here i have the rest of the parts

Look for my howto on engine install it has a special sponsor

i just want to say thanks right now and i will again to everyone that has helped me with doing all of this mainly Cobalt Performance Parts, scott has been a great help and he is a very nice guy to work with, if only he had spec clutches i would have definatly got my clutch from him aswell. I just cant justify spending 1,300 of a clutch right now while im still broke.

wish me luck i am planning another sleepless night tonight dont want to leave my beautiful LSJ hanging by the headbolts on a hoist!

to the garage batman!

All I can say isyour way more determined than I would ever be to get the car running right again. I would have pussed out and paid the dealer to fix it probably.....then again it's my ONLY car and I work 30 miles from home. I have to commend you on all the hard work. Good luck getting it going again!

I woek about 5 miles from home but its 30 degrees outside so i bum a ride to work everyday, luckily my family is supportive **** dealers they tear the **** out of your cars when they put them back together, honestly im happy im doing all my own work. yea its a decent amount of fun, but i am not the most experianced mechanic in the world, although i must say i have learned an alot from this, and i will hope to be able to pass this on to some other that need the help aswell.

Well like I said.....hopefully everything goes well for you. I dont know if I'd let the DEALER do it.....but more than likely a local shop, just because it's easier to pay someone else to do it lol.

I think it's admirable that you are doing this engine build man. I have seen shops with decent reputations do some shady **** as well. The dealerships around me baeing far the worst mechanics I have ever seen. Like I've said before I can only trust myself with the assistance of a friend or two in order to get the job done right. This isn't extremely hard work, it's just very tedious and time consuming. The rewards definately outweight the drawbacks to it though.

your telling me, what is killing me is making small mistakes that take 3 or 4 hours to fix, for example we took the engine block off the bell housing in hopes we could remove the motor mount and just slide it sideways then pull it out, isnt happening, so i had to reconnect it, which was a total ass to do. then i have so far removed every bolt from the tranny except the two lower mounts, and the one mount on the upper wheel. I opted to leave them in due to the fact its 4 am and i have been working on my car since 10 am yesterday. Im gonna take a small power nap, then go work some more before i have to head to work. I have also noticed, the more i work on my car the shittier i start spelling on here

Thanks bdwarr6! We appreciate you doing business with us. We just hooked up with spec clutches. We are expecting them in about a week. Sorry we couldn't get you it when you needed it. Your Aem wideband kit should be at your place today. I have your pod cluster right next to me and it will be going out today.
