View Full Version : Vibrant header Dezod 11-07-2006, 10:34 PM It's out! We will have some in stock in 1-2 weeks. Also, I have an actual pic of the unit as well. I will post it up tomorrow. Shortbus 11-07-2006, 10:50 PM Sweet cant wait! Allshot 11-07-2006, 11:06 PM Damn that header looks nice. What is the cost for these? Shortbus 11-07-2006, 11:08 PM Very nice piece, offered with, and without cat? zinner 11-07-2006, 11:09 PM Very nice piece, offered with, and without cat? Then how would you meet emissions on your street cobalt ;) 2fastSS 11-07-2006, 11:09 PM 2.5 inch downpipe exit so i can fit this piece in my corsa exhaust? BlilBT 11-07-2006, 11:09 PM How Much is it in group buy? BooSSted 11-08-2006, 12:43 AM 2.5 inch downpipe exit so i can fit this piece in my corsa exhaust? Well their cat back is a 3" but it has a small 2.5" section at the beginning. With that being the case, I would assume the DP will have a 2.5" exit. Shortbus 11-08-2006, 09:22 AM Then how would you meet emissions on your street cobalt ;) 2K5SS/SC? 11-08-2006, 12:17 PM Can someone post a pic of it on the ss.net gallery so I can see it? Thank you. Dezod 11-08-2006, 01:06 PM http://www.dezod.com/prod_images_large/25371.gif Here is the pic as stated. Thanks for posting above. Furthermore, we can do a GB on it. Let's get a head count!! 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 2K5SS/SC? 11-08-2006, 01:12 PM Wow, that's barely a 4-2-1 header. The secondaries are real short. It is also going to throw a CEL since the cat is behind the second O2 sensor. Why can't anyone just design a 4-2-1 header the right way. It's not like this is a complicated task! Grrr....... i was really pulling for this header too. Damn it! BooSSted 11-09-2006, 12:02 AM Good point on the second O2. I didn't notice that. Joewit 11-09-2006, 12:16 AM It's out! We will have some in stock in 1-2 weeks. Also, I have an actual pic of the unit as well. I will post it up tomorrow. do you know if this would work with your 2.75" cat-back? If it can I'll be on the group buy list.:cssNET: CobaltCoupeCrazy 11-09-2006, 01:32 AM I take it that this header is too long to bolt up in the factory location for the downpipe?? This means we can't just buy the header to use with other OE length downpipes. I want a header with a 2.5" collector that mounts to the OE downpipe is of great quality and can be ordered with double ceramic coating. Joewit 11-09-2006, 02:03 AM do you have any prices yet? black06ss 11-09-2006, 03:59 AM im beginning to think that no one like making parts for the cobalt as a great amount of them have some sort of flaw in their design. 1gmfanatik 11-09-2006, 04:06 AM What flaw are you talking about? Joewit 11-09-2006, 05:08 AM Wow, that's barely a 4-2-1 header. The secondaries are real short. It is also going to throw a CEL since the cat is behind the second O2 sensor. I think this is the flaw he's talking about, hmmm.:thumbsdow Joewit 11-09-2006, 05:26 AM Well I dont know much I was just going by what the other guy said with what was wrong with it. And also CTI's downpipe and header is also over 700 so i dont think the price is bad either. 1gmfanatik 11-09-2006, 05:34 AM I have to admit, if I had the loot, I would order one with or without the GP. Even though it would be better with the GP..lol Joewit 11-09-2006, 05:40 AM I'd order one if i cold figure out if it can bolt up to my exhaust or not. 1gmfanatik 11-09-2006, 05:53 AM They say that it will bolt right up to the stock exhaust as well as their Vibrant cat-back. From what I gather, after the cat it reduces to 2.5" which would mate right up to stock and they prob have a 3" adapter to mate it to the Vibrant cat-back.. Worst case scenario, you may have to take it to a shop and have a custom adapter put on. Joewit 11-09-2006, 05:59 AM Hmmm, I didnt think of having a shop do that, good idea(I hate not doing everthing myself though). Now i dont need a whole new cat back just to have more than one choice in downpipes lol. The vibrant cat back has a 2.5" flange on it so no adapter would be needed. 2K5SS/SC? 11-09-2006, 03:17 PM 1gmfanatik, I'm not trying to hate or find problems with new products. I was simply stating the obvious. As I'm sure you know our cars are OBD-2. That means we require two O2 sensors in the exhaust, one before the cat-converter and one after. This is so the car senses the cat is doing it's job and allows the car to run optimally. Unless you have HPTuners to shut off the second O2 sensor, this header/downpipe will throw a CEL since the cat is behind both O2 sensors. The only way to prevent the CEL other than using HPTuners is to use a O2 sensor extension piece Vibrant sells. That to me is ghetto rigging, and it isn't happening on my car especially for $750 bucks out of my pocket! Look at any quality 4-2-1 header, and you'll see what I mean. 2K5SS/SC? 11-09-2006, 03:37 PM ^^^ My warranty is GONE! That product simply won't do it for me. The CTI header is looking to be the best one on the market at the moment to me. Boost Fr33k 11-09-2006, 03:41 PM ^^^ My warranty is GONE! That product simply won't do it for me. The CTI header is looking to be the best one on the market at the moment to me. link me? dave2156 11-09-2006, 03:41 PM My chevy dealership here in Phoenix installs the Vibrant Performance Header ($990 installed) and it won't effect my warranty at all. They are on back order until december, but I will let you guys know how it matches up and runs with the Vibrant Exhaust (which I like a lot :twothumbs ) David Dezod 11-09-2006, 05:58 PM Damn! This is just wrong. Whoring up my thread with links to other companies. TISK TISK.... bdwarr6 11-09-2006, 07:20 PM why in thehell would you start a group buy when cobalt performance parts is already working on one? wtf is the point of two group buys when if everyone orders from one place you get a better deal? Shortbus 11-09-2006, 09:45 PM Its vendor wars man. zinner 11-09-2006, 10:16 PM Guys this is the vendors forum. It's there little chunk of the forum to do business with us. As with classified ad's side busting is NOT permitted. That means unless you have questions about the product or of the seller DON'T post it's that simple. This also includes other vendors. JCswoosher2 11-09-2006, 10:30 PM u pick which one u want to go with. Or let them compete. this header has been coming out for a while now. so im sure all companies were planning on a GB. they are nice enough to be on here. Thanks Dezod 2K5SS/SC? 11-10-2006, 12:18 AM Sorry, I forgot this was a vendor thread. My bad. I won't let it happen again Dezod, Zinner, and everyone else. Dezod 11-13-2006, 12:04 PM Thanks for the devine intervention mods. Much appreciated! |
