I'm sure this is a dumb question, but I will post it anyway. Is there anyway to make the supercharger louder? I have an 06 ss/sc with stage 2. No other mods. I was just curious to know if there were silencer holes on it or something like that?

 

Any CAI or the Airbox Mod will louden the SC up nicely... that's about all you can do.

 

Just throw an intake on it. Mine screams ever since I put a 3" on mine. Really loud! Just wait until the video from the New England meet comes out. You'll hear how all the different intakes sound. At least, I know a few guys had the Injen, mine is custom.

 

Smaller pulley. Mine sounds really nice with my 2.6" pulley, even w/o an aftermarket intake.

Of course, there are supporting mods needed to go this route.

 

I remember you flying passed me (in my white cavy) and that blower was SCREAMING. Its louder than you think when you're pulling like a bat outta hell at 130!
The same goes for the guy with the SUPER polished blower in the red SS/SC, with a 2.5 pulley, I forget his name, but he was putting down 290ish hp to the ground lol. ****** was CRAZY fast lol. I'm trying to upload my video of him revving it, orgasmic is an understatement.

 

Yeah SS SC's blower is loud. I love it. I'm glad we got to hear that thing in person.

 

All my buddies say that all you can hear is this crazy whine coming from nowwhere, a blast of silver flying by, and then an exhaust note. I love the noise my Injen intake makes!

 

Intake/smaller pulley is about all you can do, like they said.

 

CAI and smaller pulley. But be carefull when putting a smaller pulley, make sure that your fuel injectors can handle the load. You dont want to lean out, and reflash is a must if your running small pulleys ( 2.8 and smaller)

Look K&N CAI . i heard injen , AEM , and they are not as loud as K&N my screams like a banshee . just my .02

Not true. I have heard my friends K&N and it's no louder than my Injen. I think my car is actually louder, but that's probably because I have a smaller pulley now. What's crazy is to hear is two Cobalt SS/SC's with intakes racing each other side by side! Well, at least for a little until I put a few car lenghts on him real quick.

 

I just put my injen CAI on Mon and it is night and day. Other than that my car is stock, so if you have a stage two it should be a bit louder.

 

There are silencer holes, looks at the GIF in my sig, notice the two slits on either side? Those things are there ONLY to reduce blower whine I have been thinking about welding those bitches up and seeing how loud it is!

 

Pulley, port, intake.
