Well after seeing the reflash mentioned last week in another thread....i was shocked to see in the "things fixed" list....2 problems i had been having lately with my stage 2 cobalt.

http://yah-evolution.net/car/css/P9060396.JPG

this is the flash im referring to.

the "surging" feeling, almost like your moving your foot up and down on the accelerator...but your not...., and running a little rich.

well i booked it in and had the reflash done.
and OMG its like a completely different animal.
I dont know if anyone else out there has this situation....but GET THIS REFLASH DONE!!!
even if you dont have problems i would ask to have this done....there was a DEFINATE buttdyno change for my car. and the pull is 100 times smoother.
I remember him saying it came out on the 10th of october so its been out for a while....

everything about the car seems to run better and smoother since i had this done.

yes its a specific stage 2 issue with boost surging.
and the computer has an issue where it thinks the car is leaning out and pulls timing and dumps fuel.

is this considered a recall or warranty or did you have to pay? I ask rather than assume you didnt pay. thanks

Yeah I am confused, is there a flash update for all cars, only staged or what? What do I need to ask for to get the new flash at my local dealership?

it is fully covered under warranty.
its just an updated reflash for staged Cobalts that fixed a few problems with the tune.
im sure people will have differing degrees of success...but id also like to report that i am now getting 3mpg better mileage as well as how much better the car feels :)
even if you dont need this id ask your dealer to update your flashes next time your in for oilchange or something.

hmm... do you think it would help a non-staged cobalt though???? I guess I could ask the dealership to tune my car while I'm there for my stupid suspension!

I think its a good habit to check into whenever your in your dealership to ask them to check if theres any updates.

When i went in for this one flash....they ended up loading 6 new calibration changes that i didnt know about that had come out.

Never hurts to have the newest GM R&D loaded into your car :)

Just had mine done and it runs smoother and is easier to drive but I almost think it pulls less! Weird.

sometimes smooth = faster but feels like your driving like a grandma.

Thats what i was thinking but just playing with the interceptor and doing some pulls with my friends SRT. It's def a little slower up top but much better to drive. Too bad the track is closed or i'd go do some runs.

Everycar is different and this one is my DD so I like the new flash just different I guess.

I was suprised that after my stage 1 my fuel mileage wentup by 2 MPG city and hwy. I assumed that it would be worse than stock , now maybe after the blower gets its pulley it might be a different story .
