We were talking about an Ohio meet and some of us decided a good place for a meet is Cedar Point!

We can do a Friday and Saturday thing.

Friday we can race at Norwalk about 30 minutes from Cedar Point.

Saturday we can have a car show in the Cedar Point Lot and then go inside and have fun all day! http://cedarpoint.com/

We have yet to call the track, but we are hoping to make it happened sometimes before the end of August.

Who can make it?

I will be calling the track tomorrow and see what date for Fridays in August they have open for us and then if we have 25 or more people we can get a group discount at Cedar Point. Not sure what it is but I can also contact the park tomorrow. Parking at Cedar Point is $9.00 and a regular funday admission is $44.95. I will get the costs of Norwalk. Also Pepsi product cans save you $10 on admission to Cedar Point and if you're a AAA member you obviously can get a discounted admission there as well. Also at the Huron Discount Drug Mart (where I work) and probably others in the area you can buy Cedar Point discounted tickets and save $10 off a full day admission as well. Well I'll have more info tomorrow and I hope to see everyone there considering I couldn't make it to the bash.

Ok everyone I just got off the phone with Jonel. I called the track and the projected itinerary is as follows:

Friday August 12: 6-11p.m. Meet at the Norwalk Raceway. Now while on the phone with the track they told me that this will be a "street warrior night" NOT a "test and tune" night. This means there will be no times just first one down wins.

Saturday August 13: Meet at Cedar Point. Park opens at 10:00a.m. and the minimum number actually needed for a group discount at CP is 15 and we'll save about $13 on admission. We will make an effort to try to park together so a meeting time and place (possibly somewhere outside of the park, and everyone shows up at the same time) and we want to park together at the park. Depending on how many there are that show up the best spot would probably be in the marina parking lot which is off to the far left of the peninsula. I think this would be the best area to park because guests don not park there, therefore it would be away from everyone.
If anyone has any comments or questions please let us know. Hope to see you all there!

I am actually planning to be in the area in my SS just as coincidence. I looked saw this link and couldnt beleive it. Im gonna be there for sure ill keep checking this post and see you guys there. :lol: :cool:

Tom you are in charge since you live there. Please post the exact prices for the track and CP admission. We are going to have a car show Saturday in the CP lot..

But no hotel I recommend camping. Much cheaper and alot more fun. Beer, fire, smores, beer need I say more. I wont be there for the track runs but I will be at CP. Im bringing a big crew with me. None of them are into cars but we drink and play cards. Hopefully Ill see everybody there. :cool:

Rule #1: You never want to step up and get a discount for a group at a hotel. They will hold you responsible for the damage done to any or all of the rooms used by the group. Pay the regular price. A $10 discount is not worth it.

Yup thats right, we learned from our mistakes from putting on the Bashes for the last several years. But it is always nice to pick out somewhere everyone could stay.

if we can't get more people to commit before monday (25th) i am going to have to cancel my plans for going there. it's not that i don't love you guys, but i can't drive a 3 hour (one-way) trip to do a meet with 3 people

Actually it's not the 13th and 14th but the 12th and 13th.

Nowalk is FRIDAY Aug. 12 from 6-11p.m.
Cedar Point is Aug. 13 All day. Meet place/ time TBA.

Oh man.........
Guys you missed a lot at the track but CP rained off and on so that sucked. At the Raceway I saw 2 Cobalt SS' other then mine (blue and red). The red SS was paired up against a lime green Cuda and the Cobalt smoked him! And yes it was a V-8. It was awesome! I didn't race my car cause they weren't doing brackets and there was no telling who'd you'd get paired against. I will hopefully sometime get it out there. Well sorry the was kind of a flop. Hopefully next year we can plan it on a better date and give people more notice.
