Can we take bets for $5 for how many bolts you will have left over after you put the engine back together? :D

This ain't no car/motorcycle TV show with a self-induced ficticious deadline! Take your time, do it right, and don't make yourself think you've got to get it done today!! :)

So your 5 hours into it, only a few more left right?

An i say 7 bolts, 2 screws, 4 washers, 2 nuts, and some odd looking piece that doesn't even look like it should go with the car.

Its going good, have run into some issues that have slowed it down, im actually short bolts i have thripple checked everything we even have 2 torque wrenches
I had to motor completely back together after everyone left i manualy turned it and found the timing to be off since my marks on cams washed off at the amchine shop.

Other than that and the machine shop screwing me out of 2 bolts everything is good

we did alot more BS then working tonight i bought 3 people steakand shake to lol

i need to relax some

but i would say that you can do the following

We should be done monday

I cant drive it till tuesday anyway have to get plates for it since it blew upon a dealer plate

mmmm generally missing bolts are found inside the cylinder upon startup..

no these arent in the dam garage house or car they are seriously gone, there is nothing inside the block trust me we are assembling it on a work bench

i must say the LSJ is the easyiest motor i have ever worked on yea it takes about 3 screw ups to figure out the right way everytime but if you have some patience with this motor its fairly idiot proof hope to have it running by monday

tonight was a no go because
A dont have a downpipe ( guy has it welding a bung in it)
B No plates till tuesday today was veterans day i forgot
C my help bailed at 10:30
D i got tired of tring to take the head on and off myself to figure out timing

man i was gonna say he is gonna be missing parts but he already said he was. anyways i still think he will wind up with less part than what he thinks hes missing. -5 bolts and -4 nuts. thats including the 2 hes missing.

I'm going to give the guy the credit here, and say 0 bolts/washers/nuts left! Go bdwarr06! You can do it!

I'm not sure if you are using the build book or not, but it explains how to get the timing right on in it since the engine is still out, and if the engine is in the car. Check it out if you haven't already. It takes two people by the way to get the timing right I found. I had to turn the crank to TDC #1. Then I had my buddy align the timing marks by using two box wrenches to hold the cams on the marks (valvespring tension). Then I put the chain on the cam gears without moving the crank at all. It took a few times to get it perfect. Usually I was off by one tooth, but finally it all came together and was aligned right. I couldn't use the marked timing links on the chain either, so it was a little more difficult to do.

honestly i was so tired when i started to do the timing im glad i stopped, just i cant go any farther till i get a ride upto auto zone to replace these 2 bolts the machine shop lost

so im sorta stuck :(

ii would make a gestament that i will have the engine assembled and timed tonight, dropped in an installed monday

I also bought 30 quarts of oil to run tho this biatch the guy at autozone said " what the hell are you chainging a dam quad turbo diesel?"
