06 Supercharged Civic SI
06 Supercharged Civic SI
man u'd think a car that supposedly has N/A 188 whp would do a little better than 228whp with a supercharger and all these mods. Here's a link to the video and here's the dyno sheet. Not a civic fan but I just thought they'd put out a little more.
Wow just read this post googling the info.
I just got home with the car. OMG, this is a different car. it is going to take me a while to get use this power in a front wheel drive car.
Below is the Dyno Run. One set is with AEM CAI, EVO II Cat-back and Hondata IMG. The second set is AEM CAI, EVO II Cat-back and Comptech Super Charger. They choose to replace the Hondata IMG, not sure why, but I am not complaining. This way beyond my expectations, since I was expecting around 235 to 240 to the wheels.
The Supercharge has it's own Reflash (done by Hondata), so if you have the performance reflash that came out a while back, it will be over written by the supercharge reflash.
The mechanic said the install was pretty straight forward, and was impressed with the completeness of the kit and the software.
For the little driving I have done so far, all I can say is OMG. I can already see the clutch will be next on my list
Btw, for those who wonder. Hellzcivic is my Work account name, Tallwin is my home account name.
As for the boost, this kit has the original pulley set. The mechanic told me the blower is running a sustained boost of 4 to 5 psi. I think 275wph is a real possibility with a smaller set of pulley's and some additional software tweaks.

I thought his was pretty good point.

at least $4,000 for the charger. labor $600. Plus exhaust, reflash, headers, intake,
and dyno. About $ 7,000 plus a $22,000 Si. Wow a 240HP $30,000 civic.

No one is hating, dont get your panties in a bunch becuase for 30,000$ it only makes that much power.
It seems like a waste to put a blower on a car that revs to 8000 rpm. The blower works better at lower rpm (hence why our cars redline at 6500 or 7000), if you go all the way 8k you have to put a big pulley on it to prevent over spinning it, but then you don't make much boost. Plus 228 hp eh cobalts make that stock. 150 tq!
Still no torque, I guess its just not within the laws of physics to make a honda have torque!
u guys do realize though that there will stll be Si fanbois making excuses of why that car didn't make power...or they will result to: "yea the cobalt is faster in a straight line but the Si would kill it in the twisties" and i just laugh and ask them then why does the cobalt beat the si in the slalom, which is what measures handling?
hmm i wonder why GM spent millions of dollars testing the SS/SC at Nurburgring (sp)

Its called stating facts.
You are hating, you are showing ONE BOLT-ON FOR DUMMIES KIT and flaming it like the motor is junk. Just because that one guy paid 30k to make that power doesn't mean everyone will.
hrmm did u read only 4 to 5 psi boost
build that motor alittle more add about 15 psi boost and we wont catch him
less tq means no wheel spin or very little so ya from a dig we mit pull on him but once his revs shoot pasted 7 grand his gone
mind u i dont think ur suposed to hit the rev limiter on the dyno what a *******

No kidding it can, it's an N/A motor built for N/A not for boost. Once you feed it boost or bottle, anything more then half the hp over stock kiss the motor good bye. Honda's aren't extactly gods gift to man kind and neither is the LSJ, such a pointless arguement.. They are incredibly weak motors to be honest after they get a taste of boost. All HP no torque. Can't win a race like that.. What's HP any good if you don't have torque to move the car.
Displacement : 1998 cc
Compression : 11.0:1
Power: 197 bhp (147 kW) @ 7800 rpm (sae NET Rev 8/04)
Torque: 139 lbˇft (189 Nˇm) @ 6200 rpm (sae NET Rev 8/04)
Redline: 8000 rpm
Good luck boosting at 11:0:1 compression. BOOM!
