i am so thankful,for finding this website,yall have been truly helpful in my quest of finding my new car,i have been doing so much research in the past couple of day's,and i think the cobalt ss is gonna be my new ride,but i just have one more question,what is probly the best rpm to launch a ss/sc,because i know they have a problem with axle hop,so what rpm launches do yall prefer,thanks for all your advice and for listening to my problem's.

As far as the axle question, I wouldn't really be able to answer this just cause I don't own an SS/SC.

As far as your rpm launch question, I am sure you will get many different opinions on that. I drive my car hard but rarely have the hop issue. I don’t watch the rpm’s as much as I feel what the car is doing and work it with the clutch and shifter.

 

I launch at 2 grand if I my ADD doesn't prevent my mind from wandering and getting distracted by the pretty lights on the tree. I recommend your first mods to be some sort of traction mod, ETB, mounts something. I also recommend not stomping it in first, if you do you'll be wondering what traction used to feel like.

 

2500 and let the clutch out like I am normally driving, no hop and its the best launch I have encountered.

Thats what were here for brotha! Glad your apart of the site and good luck. As for launching...I know one thing for sure...track and street are two differant things. On the street a launch @ 2k. On the track a launch @ 3-4k.
