My stock engine went boom at 20K miles. It will take at least 2 weeks to get a new engine.

I'm not thrilled.

i love my car... no problems yet (knocks on wood), and seems to respond to mods nicely... if you take it for what it is, and don't build up in your head something it's not, then you're fine..

Lol, I think that is a small problem of mine b/c I hate to lose and I take a lot of pride in my vehicle. I can understand losing to a Lamborghini or a Ferrari, but with a Subaru, Honda, or whatever, it bugs the hell out of me. I haven't raced anything yet but I've seen Cobalts lose multiple times. The fact of the matter is that the Cobalt is NOT an Sti, it fits in with Chevy just as Civic fits in with Honda, as a cheap economy car with a bit of power. I just seem to forget that fact often

WTF?
This is the first poll where I am unable to vote because of the poll options.

I love my Cobalt, it’s everything I wanted, and everything I expected.

If I wanted a BMW, I would buy a used BMW for the $24K I spent on my SS

i love my car, but i voted 'shoulda bought a honda'...hear me out before you flame...the aftermarket for hondas is insane. no Bride seats (i love em), no mugen, no HKS, god i could go for awhile....We are just so limited and, flame all you want but honda has some AMAZING quality aftermarket parts.

agreed the attention and aftermarket has and will be very weak for the cobalt compared to others.

i love my ss/sc. its got a few very small issues but not any thing major. looks great , it gets more attention than my last bike. everyone thinks the interior is custom. pretty fast imo for not having any major mods.

if you think this car doesnt have any aftermarket support try modding a cavy, i think the aftermarket for this car is decent, not as good as hondas but decent. you can get quite a few performance part for these cars from what i see considering its been out a short period of time. more stuff will come.

compared to an import tho, the aftermarket is weak, small, and very very limited. but like i said, i love my car, couldnt afford a new type s, and am happy with it. but waiting is frustrating. part of me wish i saved longer...oh well...one day ill have my domestic and my import

I agree with that statement. Anyone who flames, just doesn't know much about after market parts. However I love my car and I have had no problems that were not expected with mods and that type of thing. These are strong cars and I would only choose larger displacement chevy over my SS/SC.

Are you talking about the new model Civics? Cuz Civics have been around for..decades. Cobalt has been around for a couple of years. Just wanted to clear that up. If GM wasn't so iffy and put some ***** into a promotion for the Cobalt we might have had a great deal more aftermarket parts by now....Brings a tear to my eye

BlilBT, ur Cobalt is hot as ****--i had to change out my pants after i saw them pics!

I'm still enjoying my LS! I think Chevy provides enough accessories to personalize your Cobalt (they're in the business of making cars not aftermarket parts). I see lots of aftermarket hoods and body parts too. I think the engine/tranny parts are a lot slower in coming due to these being relatively new -- so fewer people will make engine/tranny mods until the warranties die out. I predict once that happens you'll have your choice in aftermarket parts availability because the companies will be able to turn a bigger profit at that point -- which is where the Honda's are at now and why they have more to chose from.
