that's not really a question, assuming that you don't do something dumb, and the scion isn't being driven by don garlits, you should beat a Tc no problem. that's a fair race for a 2.2, not an SS

PSSSH!!! You, but like...a lot. The TC has no power, like at all. And even elss torque. Unless it has teh TRD supercharger, then you may run into issues. If its stock though, then you're gunna pwn him from now until next year, especially with the intake.

at the end of the race ask him how the intake sounds as you go flying past him. no but really you will beat him. i had a little punk on my ass one night in my sunfire and he was in a TC if i had the G5 i would have owned him and left him.

yeah, here's the thing. on paper, the two cars look very close. but, the gearing is way different, also toyota engines tend to rev slower.

i don't think that i would bother, you have more to risk than to gain.

2.4 SS would win. those things are slow and heavy...it would be a nice race for a 2.2. when i had my car i raced a tc with exhaust and i had 1.5 cars on him...i was very surprised. so yeah 2.4> tc

I raced a Scion tC with Corsa Exhaust and aftermarket CAI and I was stock and beat him. So you shouldn't have any problems. Its a nice car though, just not fast enough.

True facts, my father worked for Toyota for 20 years and now for Lexus going on 5, so I know a lot about their crappy tranny.

No way Nightrider, 2.4L's have the VVT giving us more Torque from the start than the scion. They dont have a chance at all! You forget the batman and robin duet that called scott's a base model when the supercharger was sittin right in front of him.

Plus, if I took that integra with the B20 swap with I/H/E and got a car length on him, no scion stands a chance without the supercharger.

Tcs also have varible valve timing.

they're rated at 160hp at 6k and 161 ft/lbs at 4k. it's not a bad amount of power for the car really, they just don't seem to have the heart of the 2.4

on paper it should be a lot closer than it is.

We are tC pro's. The tC is about 3200lbs and has a 2.4L VVT-i motor with 140whp and 155 ft/lbs of TQ. These cars respond failry well to bolt-ons and even better to boost. Our shop tC is 296whp and 302ft/lbs of TQ at 10.8 PSI on a stock bottom end. Solid 13.0 flat car with a trap speed of 107-109 on drag radials.

Nice, I have to admit. I do like the tC's, just saying they cant take a cobalt stock. I almost had one in fact, but went for the cobalt because of the rep it was gaining. I especially love Tran's 500 whp tC in modified mag. The first turboed one where they polished the entire engine as soon as they got it from the factory. I was impressed.

yea...2.4 will eat up the TC no problem. and rsx, and 97 up prelude (God these things are so slow for something with 190hp), and integra with jspec b16a(170hp) by two car lengths. yea don't underestimate the 2.4

I really like the TC's looks and stuff!! But its a fair race stockvs stock for a 2.2 and a good driver!! The SS/NA should be out of his league, but ive seen more F'ed up stuff before than a SS getting beat by a TC
