Lowered just over 1.6" with MRI racing suspension springs,
Talon_66 08-02-2005, 08:29 PM Way too much wheel gap if you ask me.
Needs larger rims.
JonyyB 08-02-2005, 08:45 PM drop it, and you got a sweet ride!

The gap is fairly sizeable but the springs will eventually sit lower over time so the gap won't be so bad. Also, unlike Japanese and European cars, it's hard to get these Chevy's very low even after installing lowering springs. I think the only way to get the car slammed is to get a custom strut/shock set-up TOGETHER with the springs.
Mercury 08-02-2005, 08:59 PM Nice drop, how much did those springs set you back? Also did you install them yourself or have a shop do it.... if a shop, how much?
The springs and install were about 450 canadian. Its greatly imporved my cornering way way better then stock. It really diffucult to get rid of all wheel gap, since i still want to be able to turn. I could get a slightly larger tire but i went with a smaller tire then normal.
IonNinja 08-02-2005, 09:45 PM wow, the drop makes it look incredibly better
those tires need to go though, way too skinny
fljohnboy 08-02-2005, 10:10 PM Looks good. What size are those rims and tires? I just got my LS last week and thinking of dropping it. I had a big problem with after market rims on last car. Think I'll just keep the 16's for a while.

They are 17" rims with 205/40 tires i believe.
blue metallic 08-03-2005, 12:43 AM Looks great lowered, gives it a nice clean and sleek look....Makes me wanna get mine dropped.
Permafried- 08-03-2005, 10:15 AM Wow what a difference that made to the look of the car. In the before picture your car almost looked like it was on stilts...I'm not sure if it was the angle you took the picture at but mine doesn't look anywhere near that high. Maybe it was the larger rims and lower profile tires than what is on mine....keep it up though car looks great so far :cssNET:.

looks good man. for your next set of tires i would go w/ 215 or 225 w/ 45 profile tires. should eliminate some of that wheel gap. ;) what kind of rims are they? motegi?
avro206 08-04-2005, 12:59 AM much better! the gap now is pretty small and entirely okay. Good to see another Calgarian! Whare did you buy from? What options does your car have? 5 speed or auto?
Just to make a correction my tires are 215 not 205.
Also i got my car and south gate chevy. It has every option exept sunroof and leather. I could care less about no sunroof but im thinking i should have went with leather. And its manual.

Can't go wrong with the leater...though my g/f keeps wearing skirts and scorching her legs when she gets in the car after it's been outside all day. I'd hate to see how hot they'd get without my windows being tinted !
I took a base Cobalt out for my test drive since the dealer had nothing close to what I wanted at the time and found the cloth seats were appealing and comfortable...pretty much a personal preference when it comes to the interior on the Cobalts :-D.
Permafried-
Yeah, i dont mind the cloth either, nothing like in the old days. Very nice tight cloth. Plus i could always by leather seats for 500 bucks of ebay if i wanted them one day.
