sunroof on ss/sc

hey guys. i waas wondering if any of you guys knew if a dealer can install a sunroof on a cobalt. my cobalt was recently totalled..yeah long story. but there is a 2.0 ss/sc on sale with that red tag thing at my dealer. it just doesnt have a sunroof. and they are looking to give it to me at a good price. it has pretty much every option besides sunroof, onstar, chrome rims.

its a 2006....im gonna try to find out a price for it..i was lookin at the 2.4SS..but i mite just go for this 2.0. u think a dealer could install it or i would have to bring it to a local shop?

ASk the dealer. I was at the Mazda dealership, and the salesman said they could put one in for around $1500. So ask them about it.

No sunroof = less weight!

You'll live without it... after market ones are a bad idea for sure.

LOL, you know how many people would kill for an SS/SC w/G85 and no sunroof. It's useless weight and nothing but a headache. I HATE mine, but I got a deal on it so I got stuck with the damn thing.

I'd go with the 06 SS/SC personally, especially if it has the G85

Just get them to order you one with the sunroof. That would be best option.

Depends on the car, I honestly don't know on the Cobalt, should be a MINIMUM of 50lbs. In the MCS's with the HUGE sunroof, it's 122lbs. Keep in mind, it's not JUST the glass, it's also the motor and everything.

EDIT: Wost part of a sunroof isn't just the weight, it's the location of the weight...at the very TOP of the car. Makes it worse for handling. Eventually I plan on ripping mine out and putting a CF plug in.

I would buy the car.
But as said before aftermarket sunroof = leaks every time!

I had one one time and it sucked. And they look like crap to.

YES dealers can install a sunroof in the Cobalt after purchased. We did it at our dealer a couple weeks ago.
