2.4l, 2.2l AUTO I DRIVE ?!?!?!

Whats up everyone anyway I was driving today and out of the blue i decided to see how this beast runs when set in I versus D anyway basically in I it revs all the way through the powerband in all gears which technically when at WOT would make things faster since its always reach max TQ AND HP although i dont know all the facts .... and it practically eliminates wheel hop on my ride and another question would it be bad to drive my cobalt in I all the time ???

anyway let me know what you guys think would be very cool if we could compile some good info on this subject cause i see around the forumn alot of auto guys are looking for similiar info thanx alot

If you have a 2, then that would be ok to run all the time because it is more tame when it comes to RPM's, yet you still get the power when you need it.

If you do not have a 2, then just use the low gear for racing or fooling around. Not all the time.

Wait so I is 3rd gear ??? then what the hell is drive geez iam a newb and so wait is it agreed then that I would technically be the best gear to race in with out actually shifting through L to D???

and another thing anyone know why the gas mileage would be so low in I

Ya that would definately be the best way to take off from a dig but iam say like ******* around with some mustang v6's around town usually on the highway so basically racing from a roll would it be better to use D or I in that case ???
and another thing since I is made for incline wouldnt it technically give you more tq to the wheels causing more wheel hop versus almost completely eliminating it like on my whip ???

PS: when you guys get a second go out and try it i think the ECU also UPS the tranny line pressure in I gear because the shifts seem to be much stronger and with a lot less slip almost feels like having a b@m installed

L gear pulls the hardest from a dig.

It will shift into second gear but you will have to shift it into I befor 3rd comes up.

I know that the pressure depends on a resistance that is sent from a sensor of some sort, but not sure what sensor or what the pressures or resistances are. I will find out.

You might be able to build your own interceptor if I can find out the resistance values. I am sure it would use the same wires as the B&M Shiftplus. All it is is resistance values to determine pressures.

Theres a differnce The intercepter isnt abunch af resiters, Its a box with a big circitboard, It can change the line preshure and the TC lock out. It would be hard to recreate.I would be rich If I could.

I would have to open it up and check it out to see what is really going on. I believe that a mere resistance change would work, though.

ya i heard about them although b@m looks nice cause you can switch back to stock settings with the flip of a switch so its nice when you just want cruise nice and smooth especially on long ass drives having those hard shifts when driving in unexpected highway traffic but ya i will definately look into it

also i heard that over time things like the intercepter and b@m can dmg your tranny is that true ???

I is 3rd AND 2nd gear people!!!! If you're driving around 80 km/h and downshift to I you'll feel the tranny shift a gear. If you keep braking you'll feel it drop one more gear. L is 1st gear and 1st gear only (and the only way to disable traction control).

Depends on what the trans is built to handle. I have heard nothing about them damaging andy 4T45E's............yet.

You can disable the TC by lifting the ebrake one click.
