Need an answer ASAP

okay...pretty much, im trying to buy the GMPP exhaust from crateenginedepot before their sale ends this friday....but i have a question first...
does the fact i have an air injection 2.2 model cobalt or tht fact that i have a cobalt with 2 cats make a difference when buying my exhaust, or would it still fit fine?

I think the air injection only changes the intake and the header so a catback should work on air injected models. don't go just what I said thiugh cause I relly dont know what im talking about

It should work just fine.....as the last poster said, it only affects the manifold/header. What you are replacing is everything behind the cat (hence "cat-back"), which is identical on each cobalt model.

the 2007's and I think some 2006's have some thing and I think there's a tube on your intake if you have it and the end of your exhaust manifold is like a half circle shape. I tried to answer your question but I dont know quite what it does or how it works. I think its for pollution control

It accelerates the heating of the catalytic converter by physically pumping fresh air from the engine's intake pre-throttle body, into the exhaust manifold and at the same time, retarding ignition timing in an effort to increase EGT temperatures to bring the catalytic converter to operating temperature sooner, thereby reducing emissions.

I read a thread about this a few months back. It talks about the intake foor this car. There was only one company that makes intakes for these cars to date. It also has pictures of the differences, I'll try to find it. It's got some good info.

K&N, basically has an additional outlet for the AIR injection hose to attach to.

I believe, without looking at any documentation, that most 2006 L61's and newer are equipped with secondary AIR injection.
