AEM needs your Cobalt SS for Product Development!
Seems like this section would be an excellent place to post this https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/foru...prune=100&f=57 .

No problem! I'll be posting up performance data on the kit as soon as I get product that's close enough to be published numbers. So far its looking like some nice performance gains.
Well, the prototype kit is almost done, but I can't release power numbers yet. I will say that the kit that made the most power wont fit in the fender area! There is a lot more potential there, but just thank GM for making access to the fender area so tight! Unless people don't mind cutting some extra room in the hole to the fender and trimming the core support a tad!
I'll be submitting the prototype to manufacturing next week. I made similar gains to the other kits for the first production one. We are only going to replace the stock airbox, using most of the stock tubing. This is to keep costs down since making a long aluminum pipe that fit thru the fender didn't make anymore power. We found 7-8 whp peak and 10whp mid range.
We are going to be looking into making a mid section piece that requires some trimming of the hole thru the fender. We found a lot more power when we were able to open up tubing in this area.
I think our kit should sell for around $150 (just estimating based on the size of the kit). It will come with our new Dry Flow air filter so there wont be any worries about it affecting your warranty due to MAF problems.
In case you haven't seen, we released all of our Brute Force intake kits with the new filter and the rest of the product line will follow shortly as we are able to build enough filters.

Sweet! $150! Good deal
However, what you said proves what a couple guys here have done: buying a K&N filter, and cutting out the stock air box, and having the filter hang free and clear. That would be cheap too.

You can't use a bypass valve with the kit as it would have to be before the MAF sensor, and its already by the air filter.
If you leave the stock trim around the filter, the Cobalt SS actually has really good water protection already, unless you put your bumper underwater. To make use of a bypass valve, you would need a kit that was able to move the MAF closer to the throttle body.
hey roger, i noticed a while ago aem started developing power packages. do u guys plan on developing a powerpackage for the cobalt ss supercharged? i'm sure with a intake, header, catback and an emanage system (preprogramed) their could be alot of potential hp there

As far as electronics, not sure what the plan is about doing a plug and play EMS. It could be in the future, and we are working on product for GMPP as well. We are actually buried with work from so many OEM's since they are all interested in our new Dry Flow air filters.
well hey, i plan on getting a cobalt ss s/c in a month or so, i live in central valley, if you guys need a test car later on in the future, i'll be willing to drop the car of when i get it for like a week or 2 for testing R&D, when i get it i plan on taking it to B+G suspension down there also and see if they can develop a coilover kit for it aswell. oh and i wont need a rental, as i have another car.
