SpecV--VS--2.4ss?
Sounded like the car they were in is what was turbo. Must of been a stock or mildly modded 2.4 vs decently modded spec v. I put 2-3 cars on them by the end of the 1/8th with same mods.

yea i think your right about the car doing the taping.. but for a spec v to put a lead on by that much that person must have had a decent mod list
that spec-v wasn't necessarily modded too much...i hate to admit it, but a friend of mine has a spec-v and it keeps close behind with my ss/sc....so if he can somewhat run with the sc then he would def put a lead on a 2.4
Guy at work has a SPec V---with exhaust and computer tune---I ahve the SRI (and waster of money, does nothign tune) We raced half dozen times---0.1-0.2 faster for me and 1.5mph.
We have much more high rpm pull.

a spec v is a faster car stock than a stock ss 2.4 but if you look closer at the vid the cobalt looks like a 4 door? is it? not that it rly matter since the spec v is also. but it might explain that beating a lil better to someone who might think its a coupe
not sure who should really win, but I am sure of the fact that having a limited slip, close raito 6 speed and 2-3 mor hp&tq makes the spec-V a worthy opponent for a base SS. If I were forced to place a wager on a stock vs. stock race with perfect driving, I'd have to put money on the Nissan.
I drive a 2.4 auto and I've jumped off a start about three times faster than than.
You have to start in Low gear and shift up to I when the low gear tops out in second. I'm surpised that he didn't pull faster at the higher gears. It would be nice to see what the speedo on the chase car was saying, but I'm sure one of the geeks here can figure out their speeds the measuring the times it takes for the cars to cross the yellow median strips with a mathmatical formula. That's not my bag baby
