Warrenty or No Warrenty?
Warrenty or No Warrenty?
So guys im coming to the comclusion, GM Stage 2, or just got with the aftermarket pulley and injector kits? idk wat to do im 17 and wat would be saffer, but i want more power so its difficult and gm stage 2 is more expensive than the aftermarket, especially if i buy the parts used, but yeah help here guys, and if i do go aftermarket ill do:
1)42.5# injectors
2)Bosch plug and play wire harness
3)Maf-t
4)2.9" pulley
5)and maybe a aem windband
6)Colder Plugs, gaped to w/e i need to lol
or any other suggestions?

I would recommend 60 Lb injectors just in case you want to mod even more later on. If you ever want to do a smaller pulley or a blower swap you will need them. Plan it right so you dont have to spend twice the money.
true man but idk 60 pounders r really high ****, and i cant blow my motor, or else if i do my dads gunan think i was racing and all, and idk if the maf-t would hold up to the 60's
idk who can do a tune and i heard the tunes r the reason y ppl blow motors, i do like an hour and a half from cobalt addiction, but i cant do the install and then go bring it there, and i dont feel like sending the pcm and wait till it comes back, so ill sjut got maf-t
If you get a mail order tune then you have the chance of running real lean or rich. But if someone around you tunes your car then it should be good. If you look on this forum and corvette forums you should be able to find a shop or a person who can tune it for you.
trust me theres no one around me, ive already looked, no one around here does tuning, and yeah the lean and rich thing idk thats y imma get the wideband and maf-t so i can monitor it, and i looked the other day swithing the pulley and injectors is not hard at all, and my cousin has a pulley puller from his svt cobra so hell let me use that, oo and i also change the plugs to colder ones, but dude im jsut gunna do 42.5 pounders i think, and ill c about pulley size
dam yeah so i wanna do the 42.5 pounders with the maf-t ill have the windband to monitor the injectors and stuff, if they go lean or rich ill change the setting, so its not like ill blow my motor doing that right? ive heard ppl saying running the maf-t is fine
I wouldnt even bother with the 2.9 and 42s, if your going aftermarket, Thats basically gm stage 2 right there, if your going to boid your warranty do it right with a 2.6 or 2.7 and 60's and a custom tune, your not going to blow you motor with the right tune, and plus whats the point on monitoring things witha wideband but using a maf-t.
well shortbus theres no one around here that tunes, not anywhere, closest i know is cobalt addiction, and they r a hour and a half away i would love 60 pounders and a 2.6, but then imma have to do other thigns too, axels, clutch and **** and idk if i wanan do that now

well my wallet is kinda being cheap lol, i dont work much and dont make as much as all of u guys on here, so idk wat to do, i cant afford to blow the motor, so wat u think for now do wat i wanna do, unless i just say f it, buy gm stage 2 do the install myself and have them do the gm stage 2 tune?
Just go with what you feel safe with. Your only 17 you already have a fast car and dont make that much money leave it alone or get stage two. Trust me I blew my first truck up. Hey 90% of the kids your age are driveing POS's dont blow it.
if your 17, cant afford to blow your engine, dont work much, dont earn much.....
how are you paying for your car? how are you paying for these mods?
and why risk it when you said yourself you cant afford it?
If you are going that route, go GM Stage 2. You need a tune! The MAF-t is ghetto modding IMO, and was only a band-aid until we got tuning. Don't take the risk if you cannot afford to pay for the consequences.
alright i wanna do other mods but idk wat to do, i want lambos, heard all they do is not align and chip ur paint on the fenders, and i wanna do audio but i dont, becuase it has it already, but then my uncle told me this y not black ss racing stripes down the middle, itll b free but still i wanna do somting and idk wat, HELP!! lol
Let's start off slow here. Do you want speed, looks, or rice?
GMPP Stage2 would be good for you if you want speed.
Lambo doors are if you want show (crap in my opinion though)
Black SS racing stripes could go either way, show or rice.
Stereo is another option, but the stock system is pretty good (at least for what I listen to)
Personally, I'm a all go and hardly any show type of guy. I like my car clean, but it has to haul ass and handle. It's all up to you as to what you really want

I installed my GM Stage 2 kit myself and drove it to the dealership for the flash. The car ran fine without the tune, but I did not get into boost at all either. It only takes 1.5-2 hours of labor for the install with flash, so the labor should only be $150-$200 max! Those dealers are trying to rip you off big time. Have them tell you why it cost so much considering the manual quotes the above time for the install. Then show them how 1.5-2hrs X $50-75/hr doesn't equal $500!
