Ouch, that sucks. I already told my boss that if we get snow or ice around here, I'm not going to be able to make it in. The tires on the SS/SC aren't rated for mud or snow driving, and even if they were, I don't think I would want to risk still losing control and wrecking it anyway.

My neon (previous car) had all-season tires on it, and at 20mph it still lost traction and spun 180 into a guard rail 2 years ago. Not risking something like that again.

Try continentals, they feel like you dont have tires at all.

ouch

The Pirellis are scary in the snow,
I almost got in a wreck with mine and promptly put my Blizzaks on that weekend lol.

but .. with the number of panels you have damaged there... that's gonna be quite pricey to get all fixed up :(

^^ very true, in light rain they were horrible. i switched 2 17's and kumho's and there wonders. then added sme snow tires for my stockers and i can go through anything.

Hahahahah the bumper ripped in half!!!! What the hell did you hit that broke it like that?

BTW, guessing from the pictures its gonna at LEAST be $1500 i think.

Sorry about your crash, and driving on snow with the stock Pirelli's won't happen for me!!

First thing my wife bought when she gave me the SS/SC for Christmas....4 Bridgestone Blizzak LM-22s 214/45VR18 on Black ASA wheels. Snow tires are the only way to go in the winter no matter what car you drive.....and I drive 76 miles (on way) to work.

The insurance should pay for it as long as they don't find out that your pirellis aren't rated for snow. If they do I could see them giving you a lot of shit.

Well that can't give him a hard time with the tires. They are the *stock* tires GM installed.

good news! the dealership by my house (friendly chev) is already on fixing my balt. :) they said it would be done next friday and i only have to pay my 500 dollar deductable for out of pocket expenses... not too bad considering the guy at the body shop there said it could be up to 8,000.00 in damage. i wonder if my insurance rates will go through the roof....

Not to be a dick or anything but your not suppose to turn and break at the same time....Do all your breaking before you turn....

Hahah , I was jus thinkin that . If there was a police report , he most likely wont see that end of it . Either you or your insurance will get a nice fat bill for that one . Sorry to hear about the accident . I lasted a week on the Pirelli's before I too freaked out . They are controllable to extent , but you have not one ounce of room for a emergency stop .
