Sunroof tracks shattered

Well...car has only a bit over 400 miles on it...and while opening the sunroof there was a *snap* snap sound...I now have bits of black plastic from the sunroof tracks. And I don't dare open the sunroof now.

Off to leave the car with the dealer tomorrow.

Disappointing the sunroof tracks are mostly plastic. If I could have, I would have gotten the car without one, but the deal on this one was too good.

Lets see how long they get to keep the car....

It appears GM has revised the part numbers for the sunroof tracks...twice...indicating they had to reengineer the parts two times. Obviously they know they had a problem...

Looks like its nearly 5 hours in labor after they get the parts in. This should be fun...

Ok, picked up car. Sunroof works great. BTW, there is a revised part number for the bezel around the sunroof switch, with better tabs. So "sneaky", you may want to go back to the dealer, and get that fixed under warranty.

Now...the sunroof works great.
BUT they put a DENT in the side of the car. I've had the car for only about 150 miles of driving, and is BACK to the shop!

only problems i have seen or heard of with the sunroof is leaks... the moonroof in my cavi i have never had an issue with and so far so good with the balt.
sucks to hear about ur problem....especially since its been such a mild winter..could have gotten a lot of use out of it still. it suckswhen the dealer has to have your brand new car for a few days too when its a shitty manufacturers problem

Yes...but I can't complain TOO much. Chevrolet AND the dealer both lost a lot of money when they sold me this car.

yeah, mine is sticking up like that too... I can puch down on it so that it becomes flush with the roof but then it just springs back up. I havent found any moisture in my car, so its just cosmetic....

what modle year has this sunroof track issue?

Have a buddy with an 05 SS S/C who had the sunroof tracks replaced three times so far. Seems the third time was a charm since they haven't broken again in over a year.

If the sunroof is sticking up, it needs to be readjusted...take it to the dealer. Its held in place with six torx head screws.
