Yea after having my car for months and months wiht no front place i finally got a fix it ticket. I wish our poliece officers would worry about child molestors and rapist killers and sitting on the side of the road making sure every one has the right **** on their cars. End or rant.... Now that i drilled out the rivits im kinda fked. So does any one know how i can attach my plate?? I was thinking of getting a big ass strong magnet and put it behind the bumper and then letting it hold the plate on(?). Any ideas would be awsome.

From what ive heard the windshield thing doesnt work either, they want it on the front bumper b/c thats whhat ive heard they aim for with their magic MPH guns that they love to shoot at me. I was late getting back to work from lunch so i was just a smart ass and said "this happens all the time lately, so..." he was like "ok so how many tickets have you gotten?" so i gave him the rundown and he said "fix it and have an officer sign it off and you will be done." Pretty straight forward. Dam bike cops cant see em untill ur dam near running them over.

Yea the big ass holes in the bumper are a big giveaway even tho i have painted plugs for them and have never took five seconds to put them in.

I already have ghetto intake i dont need a ghetto front place so NO to the zip tie idea, NEXT!

Take a picture of a corvette in town and show the cop they dont have front plates ever and see what they say. Corvettes have no exceptions to the laws, if the cops nice he'll let you go. Or you could take this to court and show them.

Thats one of the things I love about my Vette. It's almost against the law to HAVE a front plate

Last I checked 32 out of the 50 DO NOT require a front plate. I swear, there should be a waiver to state "I promise I will not run from the cops in reverse." Wait a second, running from the cops is already a crime. Yep, the only reason they want it there is because it makes a good target for the radar. BS. Go away meter maids.

I have ran dealer plates all my life and this is the first vehicle I own that our company doesn't, thus requiring a front plate.

My car came from Georgia and it has the 3 tiny holes there on the front, do you just drill through those I assume or something else for a bracket?

Because of the body kit they didn't install a bracket on the front of my car. So when I got my plates from the dealer he put the front one behind the rear plate in back. I got pulled over and had to go to the dealer to find out where my front plate was and have it installed. The Manager of the dealership said well... I don't have any Corvettes coming back because they don't have a front plate... oh well...

Take it to the dealer and see if they will put the bracket back on? That way if something goes wrong their liable. I had them do that do mine and the guy split the bumper where he installed the rivets. a month or so later I got a new front bumper on them after the manager suggested I just go to Autozone and install a cheap bracket myself.

Laser and Radar guns don't need the plate to bounce back signals. Anyone who tells you that is full of crap. Those things will pick up an RC car traveling on the interstate.
I'm not sure what the reasoning is, my state doesn't require them. Although my dealer took the opportunity to drill my front bumper and mount a bracket with a placard of THEIR name on there. Bastards!

Go buy a 20 dollar rivet gun, then buy three rivets, pop em im, open up beer can and admire your handy work. Its a good tool to have anyways, tons of stuff riveted on cars nowadays.

Shortly before we moved from Chicago I got a fix it ticket while out with the SRT4 club one night. It was the excuse they used to stop and harass me. I had been without a plate for months with no issue.

Here in NC, no front plate needed baby!!! ftw!

Front plates suck, I didn't have to have one in Arizona which saved my A$$ in Iowa while I was visiting my parents before coming over here. Then I get here and the first thing they do is screw (not drill nice clean holes and rivet it on they screwed it on) this 2ft long bracket on the bumper to put the plate in. So now I have holes that will be visible even with a standard US style plate bracket

So people who calibrate said equipment don't know much about it? eh? I wasn't saying you NEED it, but it definately increases the efficiency of said devices. Some radar systems do very poorly on cars with few flat surfaces on them. And Laser can most definately be refracted as well. That's just much more complex.
