You should be ok but you will be running lean. You need to upgrade to the 60lb injectors. You might not have to but you should get the car dyno tested to see were the injecdtor duty cycle is at. I ran the 2.8 on GM 2 for a while and kept getting a p103 code. I took it off so I can wait till I get a better tune that will suport the 2.8. Just be carful and you might be ok.

i would not run the 2.8 on the stage2 tune .... good way to melt a piston.. deff get some 60lbs and a good tuner to tune it for you if you plan on going with 2.8

Why go for 2.8 when you can go for 2.7 easily. BEST PULLEY SIZE because its the lowest you can go without havin to machine the snout.

Thanks for the help guys, I got the pulley boys 2.8 to bolt up to the gm stage 2 hub so when I get the kit installed tuesday I will be happy seeing 18 pounds of boost vs the 15 from the 3.0 pulley

Right now there is a nice Group buy going on a few post up that will give you a 2.8, 60#ers and a nice tune to keep it all safe. It might be something you may wanna look into.. Just a thought.

I sent my deposit around 12:45 this afternoon, i just haven't been added to the list yet. But i would recomend this tune for someone looking into a 2.8 pulley though. The cobalts have feelings to so don't hurt it buy pushing it's injectors beyond it's limit's

You only void the warranty if the aftermarket part that is installed fails and casues something else to happen to your car . so if you put that 2.8 on and you F*uck something up warrenty gone for your engine at least !!!! if your gonna go go large or go home LOL ( i shouldnt talk but i still do )

I got connections so no void for me!!! besides the pulley boys 2.8 is identical to the gm stage 2 pulley, theres no way to tell the difference unless you measure it, and their not going to do that. Besides, I think thats all Im going to do performance wise on top of my AEM CAI and my Megan Performance Cat back. I wanna dyno my car and see how much horsepower I have to the wheels when its all said and done, Id be happy to see 275 to 290, we will see about that tho.

GM Stage 2
K&N CAI
Ingalls "Stiffy"
GMPP Full Exhaust (Manifold, Catback Performance)

thats not alot of performace mods and im the in group buy for the Tag GM Stage 3 which should bring me my whp up alot.

im just trying to help if you think your gonna get 275 to 290 out of GM Stage 2 with PB 2.8
AEM Inake and exhaust you got another think coming. I know it sounds like im being a dick but im just trying to help if u want 275 to 290 you will need 60lb , smaller pulley, downpipe maybe another heat exchanger and some other stuff.

Its all good dude. I kno im not going to hit 290 with what I have, but I still think I will be close to 275 because the stage 2 kit puts you up to 245 roughly and exhaust should add about 20 and 10-15 for the cai. So yea, I do belive I will be around 275

Billetflow makes a 2.7 that doesnt need the snout grinded and the Intense Stage 4 which includes a 2.7" pulley needs a grinded snout so i guess it depends on the pulley. A lot of ppl were sayin that Billetflow makes the best pulleys a while back but ionna bout now. If I get a S/C Cobalt, il go wit the Billetflow pulley but im gonna get the 08 so it might be a turbo. I want an updated s/c tho b/c i like the whine

Yeah, nightrider has a point on this one. you'll be lucky to see 250 with those mods. You're boost will raise with that smaller pulley but it will go back down a little when you add that exhaust. Those mods don't really add that kinda power they are more of a support mod than anything. For true Horsepower gains look at Cam's, Heat Exchangers, Porting your blower, PEM's/ Headers, or maybe even a bottle. It usually takes many mods to get any true HP gains.
