calchr2 01-13-2007, 12:57 PM thats some cazy money for a wash and wax; but its legit though. he washes in the sun because of the washer and water temperature he uses and the car never gets to a high enough temp to hurt anything. as long as the saop stays cool on the surface and doesnt dry they your all set.
sneaky 01-13-2007, 01:00 PM Im taking my SS to a place in the spring that charges $500 to detail a car. Let me tell you. The job this place does it so detailed and they wash the car like 5 times and use special cleaners you won't believe how nice it will look when it is done, they wax the car with several layers of special wax. Many local celebs take there car here.
plyboy-illest 01-13-2007, 01:20 PM Damn!!!
djpatrick35 01-13-2007, 01:37 PM What a crock of shit, wash the car in the sunlight? Is he retarded?

Red06LS 01-13-2007, 04:51 PM I really dont knwo about the 10K thing but when you pay over a Mill for your car you dont wanna have just any kid washing it.
repoman 01-13-2007, 05:02 PM for that kind of money you could just have your car painted once a month

JonyyB 01-13-2007, 05:29 PM Damn, makes me want to start a top of the line car wash. To bad I live in Ohio
When the weather is worm, I do spend about 6 hours on my SS every couple of weeks making it almost as perfect as that guy does. I use TurboWax
biniecki 01-13-2007, 05:35 PM Anyone know what the brand is of that clay that he uses? Id be interested In seeing how much that is and where to pick some up
an0malous 01-13-2007, 05:39 PM that was some form of pure brazillian carnuba

that was some form of pure brazillian carnuba
i believe it said in the video he has the only 2 tubs of it in Brittain, and they were like 6k pounds or something?
6K pounds = $11,754.91US
biniecki 01-13-2007, 06:02 PM it said it was a block of clay that costs 20 pounds which is about $39. Also it looked like it possibly came in a set of 2. It was step 7 which removed microscopic dirt particles.
an0malous 01-13-2007, 06:05 PM ahh my bad....i thought you meant the wax.

Dont get your panties in a bunch now  (AGAIN)
Mercury 01-13-2007, 06:36 PM Claybar is where it is at. I haven't claybar'd my cobalt yet because I haven't had a whole day to dedicate to my cars paint. Although I'll admit that I have spent about 5 hours before!
That guy is awesome.
WPG SS/SC 01-13-2007, 06:45 PM It says the wax can be refilled for life at no cost. IMO that makes the price not as crazy as i first thought, especially when charging 10 grand a detail
Scythe_Snake 01-13-2007, 06:51 PM So, I think we should all chip in to get Scythe Snake a few washes like that! Thanks in advanced! :cssNET:

Are you talking about Classic Appreciation? I used to work there as a detailer about 10 years ago. While I was there they didn't wash the car 5 times. It was wash once, then cleaner wax on the lower 1/2 and anywhere there's pine pitch or stuck-on-goop, then another washing, then dry the exterior, then exterior wax. The entire cleaning process, that is if you buy the top of the line package is supremely anal retentive and they DO get the cars as clean as insanely possible. The manager at the Rochester shop let a guy go that missed a few things that would have been missed/overlooked by the average driver.
darksol4life 01-13-2007, 07:09 PM Amazing how he actually gauges it before rubbing it out.
I usually gauge mine before rubbing it out too!
celicacobalt 01-13-2007, 10:26 PM nice car washer, wish he could do that to mine

Nope, never heard of that place and I grew up in Rochester. This place I am referring to I will only say is located in Wixom/Novi Area.
What a crock of shit, wash the car in the sunlight? Is he retarded?
I call BS on $10k
It isn't a problem when actually washing and rinsing and the car in the sunlight as long as you are constantly applying water when there are still suds on the vehicle. I detail vehicles all the time in the sun, you just have to be extra careful and incredibly patient. And the right equipment helps too. :)

if people would learn how to listen he said UP TO 5,000$ for a wash, the MOST you can pay is 5 grand haha no 10,000 car wash 5 k is still alot but not when it lasts for 6 MONTHS i thought it would only last like a month
Anyone know what the brand is of that clay that he uses? Id be interested In seeing how much that is and where to pick some up
Zymol Royale Glaze , it costs 7,118$ and its in stock on Amazondotcom

stotte20 02-16-2007, 09:06 AM what kind of secret lube are you talking about here?? or dont we want to know?
06CobaltssOrange 02-16-2007, 11:48 AM how he really gets the cars to shine is he takes a dump in his hand and rubs that into the cars paint because its a natural enzyme that fills in the scratches and once ur done with fillin the whole car with doodoo u take a nice new microfiber towel to take all the doodoo off and the natural nutrients of ur food stays deep within the scratch.

Red06LS 02-16-2007, 09:38 PM what i said is quite disgusting but i actually pulled it off in a "intelligent way"
There isint much intelligence in taking a shit on your car and becides i was joking w/ you............
memphisr24 02-17-2007, 01:38 AM Man, my lube is fresh and very prescious. It works very well. It's way better than that 7 grand wax :)
ViSiONZ 03-20-2007, 01:46 PM I wish i had the time to wash my car like that ! LOL this guy is damn good at what he does it seems.
twofknloud 03-20-2007, 02:01 PM ditto never wash a car in direct sunlight especially if your gona wax itWhat a crock of shit, wash the car in the sunlight? Is he retarded?
I call BS on $10k
The cars portrayed in that quick video were already detailed. He was re-washing them simply for the camera...hence you only see him using one bucket instead of two.
Well if we can get about 7,000 of us members to put in on the wax it would be really cheap and free refills, we would just mail it from member to member. I go first for giving the idea, I will need someones credit card though.:twothumbs
I will be spending about 8-10 hours detailing the old SS tomorrow what fun.
WnDwLcKr 03-24-2007, 02:30 PM The cars portrayed in that quick video were already detailed. He was re-washing them simply for the camera...hence you only see him using one bucket instead of two.
Yea I caught that two the only one bucket thing, I kept thinking he going the damage Maserati pearl, I priced that out through a distributor and it was somewhere along the lines of 5200/gal wholesale:eek:, that makes more sense now
GreenPurgatory 07-16-2007, 03:08 PM Damn, that is alot of money even if you have money to waste. Its a cool video, kinda inspires you to clean your car. I do think that it was rather excessive, but then again those cars are excessive, lol.
VaderSS 07-16-2007, 03:14 PM I need that, only for free.
I know a guy who details cars for $250 a car(he's been doing it for 7 years professionaly), and people get it done like it's nothing. F' that, I do it myself.
I know another guy who detailed cars for a BMW dealership and on top of his hourly pay, they gave him commission on each car he did that was sold.
glockglade 07-16-2007, 03:27 PM Except for the exotics it would be cheaper to just repaint every week instead of paying 5,000 euros to wash it. you could change colors every week if u want.
Red06LS 07-16-2007, 11:30 PM Except for the exotics it would be cheaper to just repaint every week instead of paying 5,000 euros to wash it. you could change colors every week if u want.
Shit Glock, bringing back and oldie.:twothumbs
