Question Group Buys Kind of sucking lately????

Or is it just me?
I mean there are alot of Group buys going and some realy good stuff is in them to but the prices are not much lower then they are normaly. Like you save 10-15 bucks on most of them.

And some of them (Not going to say witch ones) the group buy price is more then some places normal price if you spend the time to do some looking.

Im not trying to start a fight here, or to go after the venders. Im just stating my fealing on this. Im happy that we have venders here and most of them if not all of them are great to deal with.

I would be alot more interested in the group buys if you saved some more money with them like you used to.

It just seams like the group buys a year ago saved you more money then they do now. Or is it just me?

I was just wondering why that is?

Any way thats it, rant over.

nah... i agree with you on this... the group buys offer very little in discount and i hardly consider it of any worth to buy now in a group rather than to just wait and get it on my own...

main reason im not in any GB.. the hype gets people to buy stuff.. but the savings are pretty much nothing... you are pretty much getting free S&H if you get down to #'s

i havent been on here long enough to make a comparison but i have noticed that you dont save that much, and often times can find it cheaper or the same price on another site.

maybe its credited to competition and already right above cost prices but i think they could make a littler better deal for group buys.

even if you lose a little with a group buy you have just greatly increased the possibility of repeat customers

i couldnt agree more or the bad thing is they will have a group buy and a price break at say 15 people well it will take a month for them to get 15 people and if your the first one to pay thats a long time to wait just for saving those say 25-30 dollars on a 600 dollar product , maybe if we could save like 100 dollars on a 600 dollar product that would be way better just my 2 cents take it easy

Some of them are good. But most of them are not much af a deal any more.

Thats my main thing. Its group buy! We should be able to save atleast 20% no 10-20 bucks.

CMON DEALERS!! Pass on the savings to the little guys.
Seriously I don't know if they are saving a bunch or not ordering group parts and recycling them to buyers. hopefully they would pass on more than just a token discount if they're getting like 30% off

Look at the JBP cams GB.

$600+ American for the cams regular and we're getting them for under $400. I would say that's a pretty damn good deal.

The TAG 2.79 GB is a great deal also!

^ Some are good deals. But look at all of them. Some are not a good deal at all.

some vendors get better pricing on some things. it takes talking to the manufacturer and having already established connections and business relationships to get any sort of deal.

a lot of places will give discounted pricing...not group buy pricing and this was already brought up to the site admins.
u also have to look at the types of things going up for group buy. some stuff there isnt a huge markdown on because its just impossible to do based on the discounted pricing already in existance.

i know when we are asked to do a GB , we try and do our best to get the best pricing.
we also dont FLOOD the site with group buys on everything because thats not fair to our competitors and other vendors here. there really needs to be a regulation on how many gb going on at one time and how many are for the same products per year.

what... you don't like the autometer wideband group buy thats more then just buying it on another site. Come on venders when it's a group buy of 15 - 30 people hook us up with a deal.

i will just buy a used one off one of these car sites for half.

I personally think i got a deal on the aeroforce GB. but. i ordered the double and like a nice guy, i sold one to someone else at a HUGE discount to them. I coulda got 200 for the second one since i didn't need it. but getting a second one for 175 for me, and Dan getting one for 175 makes it good for 2 people.

I understand that some things you just cant mark down as much as others.

But at times I see venders on ebay or other sites that are selling the same thing as whats in the group buy for less then the group buy price.

That just dosnt make sens to me. If they can sell it for that much why cant one of the venders sell it for the same price or a better price.

For example: I see springs on ebay all the time that are sold in group buys for less then 200 shipped and they go for 220 in the group buys?

I dont get that.

I can get that same sping for 215 on another site (Not eaby) all the time.

This happens alot. And it seams like a year ago there where alot more GBs that actualy saved you a good bit of money.

I would have to agree also that most of the GB's are just saving the customer shipping fees and/or at the most $10-20. But the JBP cam GB, the TAG Racecraft GB, and the Diamond Piston GB have great deals. But I guess saving any amount of money is better than not saving any.

ya i agree but then again free shipping is better then nothing... also i agree alot with what badgrl said if supply and demand make the price way to low as it is venders cant sell at below cost
