A little ice and snow...

Anyone else haveing fun in the ice and snow....The SS/SC doesn't do well on ice...it lacks traction with the stock tires....

I have a older cavalier to drive in the snow but my alternator went a few weeks ago and I found out monday that it killed the battery in the process...So these last 2 days have been fun. My passenger door was completely froozen shut on Monday...

Anyone find any tricks to get around better in the SS, I can't afford snow tires for it yet.

LSD seems to help me a little. whenever im on heavy ice though, i depend more on the clutch to get me started, rather than giving it more gas. just let off the clutch until you start rolling a bit then give it light gas. this doesnt help much if youre on a steep hill though...

Dude, those Pirelli P-Zero Rosso's were never intended for temps less then freezng, let alone snow or ice!!! Good luck!!! I would still try to find a used set of snows on steelies so that you save the stock rims too.

i just spend $1400 a snow tire / rim combo. i bought 18" pirelli 240 scorrettos or whatever they are and a set of asa rims (that look like the bbs's only made in 17"). and ive had them on since the first week of december and so far theyve been useless because there hasnt been any snow or ice or any crappy weather. the only thing that the tires have helped me do is do more unnecessary high speed tire spinning!

You just gotta know the fine balance between Clutch, Gas, Brake, E-Brake, and know how to steer out of slides.

I took my LS to an empty parking lot, and threw myself into 20mph slides and got damn good at recovering from them.

One thing I do on turns, is if I feel I'm sliding toward the curb is, I pull on the e-brake just enough to get the rear to follow, and get going straight.
