And I wish the collar that the stock one had fit this one. I am gonna have to rig something up so I can use the little "hook" on the fuel door so I don't leave the cap at the gas station.

A $25K car with no inside fuel door and no locking cap... it was one of the only things I found wrong...oh ya no locking wheel nuts as well.

I think GM is going away from the locking fuel doors. The Cadillacs no longer have them and I can't think of any vehicle I sold (besides the Vibe aka Matrix) that had a locking fuel door. I sold GMC, Pontiac, Buick, and Cadillac.

From what I was told, they got tired of replacing fuel doors for ppl that had theirs ripped open by vandals/potential gas thiefs. I don't know if it is true or ust bullshit the service dpt said. Now with the non siphoning gas tank design, it is said that no one can siphon gas out. But I worry more about someone putting something in my tank.

I think about both the sticking something in and taking something out. With gas being the price it is and the idiots that cruise the neighborhoods, having a lock on the tank seems like a good idea.

When you say non-siphoning design, what is the difference from the previous design? I had a neighbor with a friends work trunk in his driveway, and a weirdo tried to siphon gas out. Not sure of the year or make (can't remember) I think a late 90's either GMC or Ford.
He bolted when we came out.

There is an emergency release in the trunk area if the button doesn't work.

I don't know when but GM added an anti siphon screen into the filler neck I believe. Once again, this is what I heard, I was not a tech, I just sold cars. The filter would not allow you to put a hose down the neck to siphon gas out.
