Touring vs. Sport (Exhaust)
Touring vs. Sport (Exhaust)
There is probably a similar post somewhere, but I couldn't find it.
I see a group buy coming together right now, and I am trying to decide whether to go for a touring or sport exhaust. Which one has a better performance gain?
They sound similar enough to not have much of a noise preference, so i am wondering which will give me a better hp/torque gain.
Anyone have some dyno charts, or just know off the top of their head which one will kick out more power?
Thanks!!!

Hey! Touring is a little more quiet than the sport. Personally I have the corsa sport and I absolutely love it. It has a nice sound at Idle but at WOT it sounds unbelievable.
I see.... hmm...
Then which one seems to sound less like a "fart cannon?"
I have heard a few sound clips that make me think they are around the same level, but I just can't stand the constant ass ripping that all those Civics have.
Which one sounds more throaty than the typical 4banger ass ripper...?

The touring is a little quieter and a little deeper than the sport, but neither of them even come close to sounding like a fart can. Both are great sounding, it just depends on your preference of loudness I guess, but yes they are very similar. Are you looking at the GMPP or the Corsa exhaust system?
If your going GMPP, I would strongly recommend the touring. I found the performance sounds almost identical to stock, but louder. When the touring sounds deeper. I would deff go touring IMO
MAybe you heard a brand new performance setup that wasnt broke in cause mine sounds way deeper than stock and ofcourse louder . I really like the deep tone , but the loudness i could do without . I would have bought a touring except i bought my performance used (4 months old ) in excellent condition for 200 shipped with the tip .
^^^ maybe your right, the exhaust was a brand new one. So the sound might of changed with time... I guess it goes down to how much you want to spend, how much noise you want to make, and how deep you want to. Performance, louder not as deep as touring and more $$.
listen to the sound clips of both.
neither is deeper,
there are 2 very slight differences between them
they have the same "tone"
but the touring can be described as more "mellow" and quieter
While the Sport can be described as more "growling" and louder.
I like both, and neither sound anything like the stock exhaust.

^^^^^Yeah I think your right, it does sound like an auto. I thought of that before to, but the sound would be close, as all of our engines are all ecotecs and close in configurations. I would guess it would be louder a bit with the 2.0 and obviously have the SC whine in there! ;-)
yeah its definately an auto in the clips, but the only difference is likely to be a little louder on an ss/sc.
but as you can tell in the clips the 2 are extremely similar.
just mellow vs agressive
As far as I know the 2 are exactly the same in terms of diameters.

Your magnaflow... Do you know if the muffler on that catback is a straight through design or chambered? Just curious.
Back on track.
I think if you're looking for a cleaner and more subtle tone, than you should go Touring, if you want to be noticed go Sport.
Unless the definition of raspy has recently undergone reconstruction,
neither of the GMPP exhausts or the corsa are remotely "raspy"
heres some raspy for ya
