SS Holeshots SUCK!
SS Holeshots SUCK!
All right, my car may be in the shop due to me wrecking which was caused by bad weather and bad tires. Which got me thinking, hey ******* why don't you buy some good tires. Another problem I'm sure you guys have noticed.....the Cobalt SS sucks out of the hole. No matter how much you slip, or how little power you give it, first gear is a waste of time.
So the question is, what kind of 60` times are you guys running that have after market traction/tire mods. I definitely want to invest in a good set of drag radials for the summer but is it a good idea to drop the rim size with the radial to get cheaper ones. Seems to me like it would make the gear ratio even more aggressive and does anybody even make a good radial for the 18 inch based rim???
Questions questions....but I want to get the SS into the 12s this year and I know tires is the best way to knock off huge amounts of E/T.

reason why you crashed is because you do not know your car. Yes bad weather and bad tires help but you yourself caused the wreck not knowing how to drive in bad weather with bad tires...
its like people who blame snow for crashing yet they do not know how to drive in snow which caused them to crash

I don't understand why anyone would drive this car in snow/ice on the stock P-Zeros. You saw all the posts on here about how much the tires suck in bad weather. Don't blame driver error on the vehicle.
Next time, take a cab or sit your ass at home. You can afford the payments and have $$$ left to mod... you can surely afford the cab fare for a day or two.
Ive got sport edition F6 16 inch rims for my drag radials. The tires are 255/50/16 BFG Traction T/A drags. My best 60 foot is 2.06 w/ perfect launch and minimum wheel spin. It suprised the hell out of me. I thought to myself, so this is what traction feels like.lol
Well hey minus the bash-fest and half hijacked thread thanks for the info. And by the way I do know how to drive in the winter I live in Western PA, I grew up driving in this ****. I don't appreciate how you guys just assume I'm retarded because I wrecked my car. I drove on the stock tires because I was confident that nothing would happen, can't see black ice though, just looks like wet road. Once the car is beyond the point of no control theres nothing the best driver in the world can do.
By the looks of it I'm going to have to invest in a set of 16 inch rims and some good slicks. It's good to see some of you guys, when hooked, can run low 13s with mild mods. I do want to break the 12s without opening the motor.
